» Thursday, 7:30 p.m.: Gainesville District Supervisor John Stirrup will hold a town hall meeting at Sinclair Ele-mentary School, 7801 Garner Drive, Manassas. The topic will be neighborhood issues and representatives from the county's Neighborhood Services department will speak.

» Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon: Buckland Mills Elementary School, 10511 Warfdale Place in Gainesville, will hold a Family Fun day, including a fun run and walk-a-thong, a community resource fair for parents and games for kids.

» Sunday, 1:30 p.m.: Silver Lake Regional Park,  16198 Silver Lake Road, Haymarket, will officially open to the public with a grand opening ceremony. There will be fishing, boating, guided hikes, hay rides and a community picnic starting at noon. Visit http://www.pwcparks.org for more information.
