» Tonight, 7 p.m.: Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville will host speaker Christopher West, who will speak on the subject "God, Sex and the Meaning of Life."

» Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The Gainesville Ruritan Club will hold its third annual Pumpkin Pandemonium event. Entry is free and the club will sell pumpkins of various sizes. There will also be games, food vendors and entertain-ment including pony rides, slides, a rock climbing wall, hay rides, a dunking booth, and an art show.

» Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The Virginia Gateway Shopping center in Gainesville will hold its annual fall festival, featuring a "Celebrating Safe Communities" event hosted by the Prince William County Police De-partment. The free event will include performances by the Bull Run Cloggers, a slider-eating contest sponsored by Uno's Chicago Grill, a children's costume contest and trick-or-treating, live country music, visits with the police department's Horse Mounted Patrol and other police officers, and a blood drive. » Tuesday, 6 to 7 p.m.: Gainesville Middle School's Advisory Council will meet at the school.

» Tuesday, 7 to 8 p.m.: Glenkirk Elementary School's Parent Teacher Organization will meet in the school library.
