» Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m.: The Marque at Heritage Hunt, at 13550 Heathcote Boulevard in Gainesville, holds its weekly farmers market.

» Friday, 4 to 6 p.m.: Author Walker Elliott Rowe will sign copies of his book, "A History of Virginia Wines from Grapes to Glass," at The Winery at La Grange, 4970 Antioch Road in Haymarket.

» Friday, 5 to 7 p.m.: The Dominion Woman's Club will host its third annual Pink Social at Stonewall Golf Club, 15601 Turtle Point Drive in Gainesville. Participants are asked to wear pink and donate $10 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

» Friday, 8 to 10 p.m.: The Boy Scouts of America will host the Haunting of Haymarket Hollow, a Halloween event featuring a haunted house, hayrides, face painting and more at Camp Snyder, 6100 Antioch Road in Haymar-ket.

» Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.: The Marketplace at Madison Crescent shopping center, at the intersection of U.S. routes 15 and 29 in Gainesville, will hold its first Fall Follies. There will be prizes, balloon twisting, face painting and music by country station 98.7 WMZQ.

» Saturday, 7 to 10 p.m.: The Boy Scouts of America host the Haunting of Haymarket Hollow, at Camp Snyder, 6100 Antioch Road in Haymarket.

» Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Gainesville Middle School will hold a school beautification day. Volunteers are needed to help clean up the school at 8001 Limestone Drive in Gainesville.

» Saturday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.: Rocknoceros will perform a free concert on the Atlas Walk Community Stage at the Virginia Gateway Shopping Center, at the intersection of Linton Hall Road and U.S. 29 in Gainesville.

» Saturday, 2 to 4 p.m.: Glenkirk Elementary School, at 8584 Sedge Wren Drive in Gainesville, will hold its fifth annual bike-a-thon and fun run event. The free event will include face painting, moon bounces, popcorn and a silent auction. The goal of the event is to raise awareness about autism.

» Tuesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m.: The West End Counseling Consortium will present a "Children and Perfectionism Workshop" for parents of elementary school children. The free workshop will be held in the story room at Gravely Elementary School, 4670 Waverly Farm Drive in Haymarket.
