» Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m., The Backyard Boutique in the Virginia Gateway Shopping Center will host "Thursday Night at the Gallery," where visitors can meet and greet local artists.
» Thursday, 8:30 p.m., The Madison Crescent Shopping Center, at the intersection of U.S. 15 and U.S. 29 in Gainesville, will host a free summer movie series. This week's movie is "Over the Hedge." In the case of rain, the movie will be shown on Tuesday.
» Friday, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., The Evergreen Manor House in Haymarket will host its last free summer concert of the season. This week's LIVE! at Evergreen Concert will feature Andre Fox: "Motown to Rock." The concert will be held on the lawn of the Evergreen Manor House at 15900 Berkeley Drive in Haymarket. » Saturday, 4 to 8:30 p.m., The town of Haymarket's Summer Concert Series continues. Local band "Bad Luck" will return for an encore performance at 4 p.m., followed by "Change Order," a local band that plays a variety of rock, blues and country music, at 6:30. The free concert will be held on the lawn in front of the police department. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to contribute to the Hay-market Food Bank and Food Pantry.
» Saturday, July 18, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Kid Drop Zone at 6888 Piedmont Center Plaza in Gainesville will hold "Magic, Music and Fun!" featuring the Great Zucchini, face painting, balloons, magicians, moon-bounces and games. Admission is $5 per child. Adults and kids younger than 2 will be admitted for free.
» Monday, 7 p.m., The Haymarket Planning Commission meets at 15000 Washington St.
