The BB&T bank is proud to partner with The Allstate Foundation and the "Tell a Gal P.A.L." program for victims of domestic abuse in need of professional clothing.
BB&T will collect donated suits to be given to shelters to help outfit domestic violence survivors as they enter or re-enter the workforce and get back on their feet financially. Donations of nearly new suits and professional attire that are cleaned and interview-appropriate will be accepted. Donors will receive a tax-deductible gift receipt.
For a list of BB&T locations, see http://www.bbt.com.
Deb Jewell, independent consultant for The Traveling Vineyard, will also help collect clothing. Jewell said there is a specific need for larger sizes. Call 703-499-4046 for information on where to donate.

LWV sponsoring tea on preparing candidates
The League of Women Voters Prince William Area Unit invites you to enjoy tea, get the latest scoop on Virginia politics and learn how to get more women involved in leadership.
The event is Nov. 1 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Occoquan Room at the McCoart Administration Building, off the Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge.
The Sorenson Institute at the University of Virginia has been training leaders since 1993, and many well-known male and female Virginia leaders are graduates. Bob Gibson, executive director, will detail how the institute works and how it can help attract more and better prepared candidates—especially women—for office.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Joyce Ard at 703-580-8122.
The League of Women Voters Prince William Area Unit is part of the State and National League of Women Voters. LWV is a non-partisan organization which neither supports nor opposes any political party or candidate.
