» Thursday, 7 to 8 p.m., Battlefield High School is holding an information night for students and parents interested in learning more about the school's IT Speciality Program.

» Friday, 7 to 9 p.m., Mountain View Elementary School is hosting a faculty volleyball game. The game will be played at Bull Run Middle School,  6308 Catharpin Road, Gainesville.

» Friday, 5 to 7 p.m., Cork and Fork, at 7333 Atlas Walk Way in the Virginia Gateway shopping center in Gainesville, is holding a free beer tasting.

» Saturday, 2 p.m., teachers at Glenkirk Elementary School will take on the Harlem Wizards in a basketball game organized by the school's PTO. The game will be played at Battlefield High School, 15000 Graduation Drive, Haymarket.

» Monday, 6:30 to 9 p.m., the Dominion Woman's Club meets at the Dominion Valley Country Club, 15200 Arnold Palmer Drive, Haymarket. The club is open to all area women over the age of 18.

» Thursday Nov. 19, 7 to 8:30 p.m., there will be an information and planning meeting for anyone interested in helping with a fundraiser to support the Gainesville Neighborhood Library.  The meeting will be in Gravely Elementary School's library, 4670 Waverly Farm Rd., Haymarket.

» Saturday, Nov. 21,  10 a.m. to 4 p.m., St. Paul's Church, 6750 Fayette Street in Haymarket, is holding a holiday open house. Stroll through St. Paul's rectory house and experience the flavor of the holidays through tasty refreshments and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Shop for unique Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations, food, and gifts for friends and family, or simply treat yourself.
