Heritage fest set for Saturday
The 18th annual Manassas African American Heritage Festival takes place Saturday at Metz Middle School from noon to 6 p.m.
Over the years the festival has grown to include more than 125 exhibitors, including arts and crafts dealers, retailers of African Wares, youth groups, colleges and school exhibits, Health Fair, Business and Job Expos, Classic Car Show and great food vendors.
Admission to the festival is free but attendees are asked to bring can food items to be donated to local shelters.

Noon: First Baptist Church, The Plains, VA; 12:30 p.m., Step Team, Little Union Baptist Church, Dumfries; 12:45 p.m., Temple of Jesus Praise Team Manassas; 1:15 p.m., Step Team, First Baptist Church, Manassas; 1:30 p.m., Hand of God Ministries - Youth, Manassas; 1:50 p.m., Authors' Corner; 2 p.m., Kahidijah's Hair Show, Manassas; 2:20 p.m., Community Awards; 2:30 p.m., Hand Dancing Demo; 3 p.m., "Soulful Purpose," R&B Band; 4 p.m., Classic Car Show Awards; 4:15 p.m., CPAC Performance; 4:45 p.m., Mane Event Hair Show, Manassas; 5 p.m., "Bobby G & Friends" (formally "Blues Hawks"), Blues Band.
