Be a Santa to a Senior is getting ready to kick-off the season with its Celebrity Bartender event. This takes place on Thursday, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It will be held at LaCapilla (formerly LaChapelle), 9329 Main Street.
Complimentary Spanish Tapas will be available until 8 p.m. Select wines for $7 a glass and $3 draft beers are also available.

Creepy carnival
Break out your Halloween costume a day early. Chinn is hosting its Creepy Carnival on Friday, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Recommended for kids age 10 and under, the party will feature face painting, games, a moon bounce, food and more.
Tickets will be sold at the door. The event is free for kids age 2 and under, $6 for ages 17 and under and $3 for adults. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center is located at 13025 Chinn Park Drive, off of Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge. For more information about the Chinn carnival, contact Christy Moore at .
Moonlight paddle
For a relaxing trick-or-treat alternative, Lake Ridge Park is hosting the Howling Moonlight Paddle Trip on Saturday. Although the marina closed for fall, participants in this trip can appreciate one last paddle on the Occoquan Reservoir and see the beautiful fall leaves. The trip starts at 5:30 p.m. with a short refresher course. Everyone ages 5 and up is welcome. Lake Ridge Park is located at 12350 Cotton Mill Drive, Lake Ridge. Trunk or treat
On Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., bring your children to a fun event. It will be held at the City Hall Parking Lot. This event is called Trunk or Treat. There will be pumpkin decorating, crafts, hayrides, a moon bounce, and lots of candy. It is free and you can wear your best costume. Decorated trunks still needed.
