Eat spaghetti, support community tree lighting

Buy tickets now for the Nokesville Business Association fundraising spaghetti dinner to be held Nov. 14. The dinner will be at the Nokesville Volunteer Fire Station No. 5, at 12826 Marsteller Drive, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Eat heartily and enjoy a silent auction and raffle, all to benefit the eighth annual Nokesville community tree lighting.
The NBA is asking the community to help raise funds for the event's carriage rides and food.
Advance ticket prices are $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 to 12. Children 4 and younger are free.
Tickets at the door are $8 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12.
Volunteers are still needed.

Scrapbook to support wireless education
Help Moms for Safe Wireless and enjoy a scrapbook session Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Choice Books, 11205 Nokesville Road.
Moms for Safe Wireless' goal is to make the public aware of potential health effects of wireless products, particularly on children using cell phones.

Walk with the birds at Merrimac Farm
Come out for a bird walk at Merrimac Farm on Sunday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.Led by naturalist Kevin Parker, the group will travel through a variety of habitats - including open fields, woodland edges and bottomland forest - to learn more about birds and discover wildlife that lives at and visits Merrimac Farm.
The walk is open to the public and free of charge.
