Volunteers can help with the Occoquan River clean-up project, scheduled for Saturday. The effort is being coordinated by Friends of the Occoquan (FOTO), and you can contact German Vanegas at 703-624-7124 if you'd like to help.

This will be going on in the town of Occoquan, at Lake Ridge Marina, Occoquan Regional Park, Fountainhead Park and Bull Run Marina.

Winter clothing collection for homeless is on this month

Throughout October, a collection is going on for winter clothing items which will be donated to the Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center. The winter items are being collected by the Lake Ridge Moms Club, and apparel such as winter coats, boots, mittens and scarves can be donated.

Bring the items to the Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation office on Oakwood Drive in Lake Ridge.

Vendors being sought for church's fall bazaar

Vendors interested in participating in the annual fall bazaar held by the Crafters of St. Elizabeth Seton Roman Catholic Church are asked to please call Mary Ann Glenn at 703-491-6311 for information.

The bazaar is scheduled for Nov. 7 and 8, and cost for a table for the two days is $40.

Order Florida citrus—and also help Woodbridge High's band

Woodbridge Senior High School band programs are holding a fundraising where you can order fresh Florida citrus products.

Orders need to be received prior to Oct. 23, and can be ordered from a WSHS band student.

Schedule an audition for Pied Piper Theatre's upcoming production

Young people, ages 8-18, who want to audition for the Pied Piper Theatre performance of "Geppetto & Son" need to call for an audition appointment at 703-330-2787.

These auditions will be on Oct. 23 and 24. Actors, singers, and dancers are needed. Information about fees and production schedule and events is at http://www.center-for-the-arts.org.

Workshop on watercolor slated by Prince William Art Society

"Watercolor Weekend Workshop" is being taught by Professor Todd Messegee on Oct. 24 and 25.

The workshop is sponsored by Prince William Art Society; cost for both days is $130 for members, or $140 for non-members. Cost for one day is $65 for members, or $70 for non-members.
