Community events

Saturday, 4 p.m.: The Bands Along the Occoquan competition will be held at C.D. Hylton High School.  The 12 bands will be judged and earn trophies based on the size of the band or class in which they enter.  Tickets cost $6.  All proceeds go to the C.D. Hylton Marching Bull Dawg Band Booster organization.

Tuesday, 7 p.m.: The Capital Hospice Loss of a Spouse support group will start meeting at the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church located at 12351 All Saints Place in Dale City. The group will meet through Nov. 10. Call 703-396-6181 for more.

Sunday, Sept. 27, 2 to 6:30 p.m.: The Dale City Boy Scout Troop 1390 will celebrate its 35th Anniversary at Prince William Forest Park.  All former scouts and adults from Troop 1390 are invited to attend.  For more details visit troop1390 anniversary35.org.
