I read complaints from Democrats and liberals about negative political advertising but see little consistency in their views.

I have been involved in many business and charitable activities in Prince William County for nearly two decades.

It is blatantly obvious that Del. Paul Nichols is the superior candidate to serve the citizens in 51st District.

Apparently, this election comes down to what independent and Democratic voters want Virginia to do for the next four years.

The November election for Virginia’s attorney general is fast approaching and it’s possible that many voters do not have the information they need to make a wise decision in the voting booth.

The fact that charges were dropped and the record expunged in Paul Nichols 2006 arrest says nothing about his conduct and judgment during the incident. Mr. Nichols says he was the victim of police misconduct.

A few years ago, when asked to cross party lines when voting, I carefully considered the request. In the end, I supported a person who was less like me in many ways than my party’s candidate.

I am disgusted with politicians like Rich Anderson who think it is OK to use false information to sway public opinion.

Call me cynical, but I recall last week that Alex Granados, your editorial page editor, lectured your readers about the unsuitability of anonymous letter writers and the need for full disclosure.

I read with some interest the Sept. 23 article, “Vets’ group forms to support Nichols.”

As chairman of the local Republicans, I cannot claim to be unbiased in the 51st House race.

Sometimes, a politician goes down to Richmond and remembers who he works for. For years Manassas had a great man in Harry Parrish who never forgot who he answered to at the end of the day: his constituents.

As Mayor of Dumfries, I want to announce how much of my current town salary I will forgo starting in Nov. 2009 and continuing through June 2010.

Raising a child in today’s world is tough; however, when a child has autism it becomes that much more difficult.

If you are a true Christian and are praying that God will bless our country again and turn it around, I have some good news.

I would like to thank Mr. Leonard Pitts for the fine example of the liberal trend started, oh about one year ago, of attacking the messenger when they do not like the message.  His “Counting the ways I don’t trust Fox” piece was too cute.

Let me see if I understand what is happening. Mr. Virginia Democrat and arch Liberal Mike Moran calls brother Deeds and says to him, “Lighten up and cut the negatron talk.” 

After reading the article about the race in the 51st District I was simply, for lack of a better term, disappointed.

My husband bought a copy of your paper on Oct. 6 after noticing the front page article about the abortion protestors.

So as not to blur the lines, this letter involves the 52nd House of Delegates race in Eastern Prince William County.

I was disheartened to read that Rich Anderson has already started to run a negative, nasty campaign against Del. Paul Nichols.

I write today to encourage citizens of Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park to vote on Nov. 3. Let your choices count and your voice be heard!

On Thursday, Oct. 8,the NAACP conducted the first of two events featuring candidates for delegate in this year’s election.

I was taken aback by the rantings of Michael Shannon directed towards Creigh Deeds.

In response to Cal Thomas’s Oct. 2 column “Deception,” I have many things to say.
