A sarcastic thanks for clearing our community
Published: July 20, 2008
I am a 17-year-old caucasian girl who has lived in Manassas my whole life. I just want to say thank you for allowing the white, self-righteous and supremacist legal citizens of this fine, upstanding county
to once again have the important jobs back, like fast food and construction. I know it has always been my dream to work the drive through at my neighborhood McDonald’s and now you have made that
dream more possible. I am so proud to be a part of a city that is taking a stand against those pesky brown people. I was riding in the car with my Hawaiian friend when we got pulled over so the nice
policeman could make sure she wasn’t an illegal Latina. I know that in my heart I couldn’t be more thankful for those new laws that you helped pass to racially profile everyone with dark skin. Gee, I don’t
even know why I’m friends with her.
I know that no one who eats tacos and burritos can be a good person. I mean hey, I don’t want that new Chipotle on Liberia Avenue! These people just need to go back to Mexico and take their children.
They deserve to starve, be in constant danger, and have a poor education.
After all, they were born in an inferior country! I don’t want any new customs in my life.
I want to be closed-minded and be surrounded by my pasty friends forever. Please get that diversity away from me!
Now people say that all Americans immigrated here. Well that may be true, but at least all of mine spoke English when they came here! Oh wait… except for my Danish, French, and German relatives.
But no matter, at least it wasn’t Spanish. When I was in high school and I was trying to learn another language, I had the hardest time and struggled through all three years. I hardly remember any of that
language, but who cares? Learning a second language may be really hard for anyone, but it doesn’t matter if your first language was English.
Now I look around my upper middle-class neighborhood and see that there are far fewer children for my neighbors to play with. But I rest assured knowing that when they play tag, they won’t get tagged
by Latino cooties anymore.
Next, we should give them disease-infested blankets; it worked when we wanted to get rid of Native Americans.
Thank you once again for your efforts to cleanse our community,
SUZIE ESKELUND

Oh, and Anonmom,
I am definitely not whining or claiming “victim” over what happened back in Mississippi in 2004. Moving here to Virginia has been a great move for my family and I, opening up wonderful career opportunities. So in a sense, those arrogant, loud-mouthed narrow-minded self-righteous wingnuts back at my former company did me a great favor by forcing me out. They also gave me the opportunity to annoy Northern Virginia wingnuts in a way I never could have in Mississippi.
You have them to thank for being annoyed at my posts.
Anonmom,
Since you weren’t there, you couldn’t possibly know what happened. Just your imagined scenario is very informative.
My “bringing politics into the workplace” consisted of putting a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on the car I drove to work and parked in the company parking lot alongside the very many Bush/Cheney bumper sticker-sporting cars. This made me a target for a smear and rumor attack orchestrated by Conservative co-workers that led to me losing my promotion. This incident was a large factor in my later decision to move away from Mississippi and relocate here.
In fact, I put the bumper sticker on my car due to the constant out-there, argumentative conservative moral superiority spouted by co-workers who just wouldn’t shut up. They felt that as conservatives, they had the right to ridicule myself and the very few other Liberals in my workplace, professing zero-tolerance for our opinions. It was from these people I learned what zero tolerance really looked like. So, you might say I actually did learn something from Conservatives.
I truly don’t care whether you believe me or not. Believe, disbelieve; it doesn’t change what happened, and will not change my personal feelings towards Conservatives.
But, I can see how a Conservative would think what happened to me was appropriate treatment for the crime of expressing free speech. NOTHING frightens a Conservative more than a new idea that is grounded in reality.
So, RonCharest, you are a liberal who inappropriately brought politics into your workplace and then lost your promotion/job. And you say this happened just because you supported Kerry? I doubt it.
Try this: Your out-there, argumentative liberalism and moral superiority alienated your coworkers, and you just couldn’t shut up, could you? And now that gives you the right to ridicule others, all the while professing your zero-tolerance for the opinions of conservatives, or anyone who disagrees with you, for that matter.
Thank you, RonCharest, for exemplifying that liberal victim mentality we all know and love.
I am always amazed at the naivety of our youth – and the abject arrogance and ignorance of the ways of the world. Perhaps because she has lived so long in the warmth and comfort of her own privileged and pampered lifestyle, Ms Eskelund cannot understand or appreciate that much of this effort is designed to keep her safe from the hundreds if not thousands of criminals in the illegal alien community. Remember that many of these people broke the law with their first steps into our country—and will only continue to do so—but with increasing violence and contempt for our community and its citizens. I only hope and pray that Ms Eskelund will never have to meet or deal with the murders, rapists, drug dealers, human traffickers and other examples human filth and depravity that continue to thrive and prosper within the illegal alien community.
MikeG,
You were being condescending to Ms Eskelund, taking the attitude that “she was too young to know what she was saying.“ Gag. Notice that I’m referring to her as “ Ms Eskelund?“ It’s called “respecting her as an adult.” Showing respect for others is something I learned as a teacher, military leader, and civilian supervisor.
Sarcasm, innuendo, and satire are all, in my opinion, perfectly acceptable means of debating issues and pointing out the fallacies in someone else’s opinions or actions. Being condescending to them, or ridiculing them, is not. If you’re not sure of the difference, try looking up the definitions in a thing called a “dictionary.” It’s a big book with lots of words printed in very small type. (Hint; Those last two lines were ridiculing you by being condescending. Some may disagree with me.)
The single biggest failing of the Conservative movement today is that the entire “philosophy” is centered around mocking those deemed “insufficiently Conservative.“ The last several election cycles showed this, such as the 2004 Presidential election when Pres Bush’s entire campaign was spent mocking Sen. Kerry with nothing about what Bush planned on doing with four more years as our leader. Currently, Sen. McCain’s entire campaign has already descended into open mockery of his fellow Senator, with the latest being Sen. McCain’s charge that Sen. Obama would rather lose a war than lose an election. But, you might actually agree with this statement.
While I certainly don’t mind watching Conservatives self-destruct this way, it also defines the limits of debate. I say again; I’ve learned there is no point in holding honest debate with anyone who is only interested in mocking those with differing opinions. The reality is that very few Conservatives today even know the difference between debate and mockery. Sadly enough, that includes yourself and most Conservatives posting on these comments boards.
Calling me “elitist” for writing that only proves my point.
“You supported Kerry? Eeewwwww!! “
Eeeewwwww, I know. How could we not vote for George W. Bush? He’s just been such a great President. What were we thinking?
I’d hate to think what might have happened if John Kerry had been elected. We might still be stuck in Iraq, with a recession at home, no plan for alternative energy and filling our cars up with $4 gas. Boy, that would have really sucked.
Thank goodness we elected the guy who tells the Pope his speech was “awe-sum”. I’m really glad he represents us to the world.
Ron, there you go again, weilding that moral superior attitude all over the place. Just because you believe your position as a volunteer teacher gives you some leverage doesn’t cut it in my book.
You’ve characterized me, at least, all wrong. I do not mock. I might call a spade a spade, but I do not mock. Besides, Ron, why is it that one person can mock (through sarcasm), yet when someone else does essentially the same thing, it’s suddenly bad. Oh, right; I’m a conservative, while she is a liberal. All clear now.
I certainly was not mocking Ms. Eskelund, although I did get a little rough on her. She has a right to her opinion, and I gave her that, but as I perceived her post to be elitist and combative, it begged for a stern reply. Her age doesn’t qualify her for softballs. Sorry you don’t approve.
And quit trying to elicit sympathy because of your staunchly held, but apparently highly misguided opinions about others outside the leftist political wing you obviously support. It’s one thing to have principles; it’s another thing to throw them in the faces of others, particularly those who have some power over your future.
You supported Kerry? Eeewwwww!!
Anonmom,
By nature I am a “teacher.“ I have taught professionally in the past but currently only do some volunteer ESL teaching. My professional, supervisory approach for many years has been developing my subordinates to think for themselves.
This is my preamble to answering your question: “Can a teen disagree with you and still have a bright future?”
The answer is “of course.“ I ridicule so many conservatives here on these forums simply because most conservatives posting on these forums are only interested in mocking those who disagree with them. As you did in your earlier post mocking Ms. Eskelund, and as MikeG, Jmolina, and Allisonkipp are currently doing. I’ve learned there is no point in holding honest debate with anyone who is only interested in mocking those with differing opinions.
I believe in teaching people to think for themselves, develop opinions based on facts, and defend those opinions using facts, while respecting people and opposing points of view.
For the record; after nearly 35 years of being mocked for holding “Liberal” beliefs, which includes once losing a promotion that also put me in line for a layoff (run up to the 2004 elections, for my support of Kerry/Edwards), I have zero tolerance for ANYONE mocking me or other people who hold Liberal viewpoints.
I repeat again what jVA said on a different thread: “Yes, I’m a Liberal. So?“
This LTE is meant to inflame - and it is devoid of fact. This is just a 17-year old’s perception of what she believes is racism.
The fact is that our great nation has immigration laws - illegal aliens are violating the law. That is a fact.
Regardless of race, illegal aliens are willfully breaking the law.
In the Northern Virginia area, the majority of illegal aliens are from Mexico and Central American countries. That is also a fact (see ADC statistics),
The politically correct liberals try to make this about race - but it is about laws and the sovereignty of America.
This young lady is entitled to her opinion - and that is all it is - an opinion. I vehemently disagree with her and all the PC liberals who regularly post here.
And for antibvbl.net, there is nothing wrong with our immigration laws. The problem is the PC liberals in the government refuse to enforce the laws.
RonCharest, I am glad that she isn’t so plugged into her iPod that she took the time to express herself, and to do it well. I hope you will also provide the same sort of encouragement to a teenager who expresses support for the resolution or concerns about some of the negative effects of illegal immigration. Can a teen disagree with you and still have a bright future?
