LETTER: Americans must show solidarity

» 98 Comments | Post a Comment

Why aren’t Americans wearing green bands on their arms or in any other way showing support to the demonstrators who risk their lives on the streets in Tehran?

Why isn’t America celebrating the first steps of democracy and freedom in Iraq, Afghanistan and now in Iran?

Wasn’t the hope of bringing the wind of change one of the ideas why America’s soldiers are fighting in that region?

America has always been a symbol for democracy and freedom to the whole world, but there is hardly any sign of emotions when dictators fall and countries taste freedom and hold free elections for the
first time in their history.

I appeal to the News & Messenger to announce a week for showing our support to those who are being beaten and shot in the name of freedom on the streets in Tehran!

“The facts are in the archives on these pages if you want to find them”

No, they’re not.  You’ve never floated the idea that Saddam was posturing.

You’re upset that you’ve been caught lying again.  I understand.  Perhaps you should double up on the blood pressure medicine, genius.  You’re sounding a bit loose with the emotion.

In the meantime, still waiting for some citable, credible fact that Gov. Palin “charges” the people of Alaska “to sleep in her own bed.“

Of course, that was a lie too.  One more, in a long, long, completely factless string of rhetoric and dishonesty.

“No.  You’ve never made the argument that he was “posturing”.  I won’t go search for it because I know you’re lying.  It’s what you do.“

No, what you always do is attempt to rewrite history if the facts do not suit your desired outcome.

The facts are in the archives on these pages if you want to find them, but of course you don’t.

I must say though, I am always amazed by how well your rose-colored glasses work when looking back on the Bush Administration.

One would think with you playing gerbil with your head deeply embedded between Bush’s butt cheeks it would be too dark to see anything at all.

“I’d rather stick to substance and truth.“

That, Scorpio, would be a refreshing change.  In fact, that might even start a trend that Pwanon follows.

“Its all in the archives, feel free to go back and search the topics - on your own time, not mine.“

No.  You’ve never made the argument that he was “posturing”.  I won’t go search for it because I know you’re lying.  It’s what you do.

“and the nearly $1 trillion spent on a needless adventure”

Interesting.  What you call “needless adventure” is not what the majority of the troops I’ve talked to have said about it.  I’m glad you don’t esteem their efforts too highly.

In fact, the rejection of Islamic extremism in Syria, and in Lebanon, and obviously in Iraq by the younger generations can be directly attributed to the fact that they now have a neighbor that has a living, breathing democracy right next door to them.

A place that we can now correctly call an ally in a part of the world where we have few, but with our help, others are on the way.

And you’re worried about paying for Iraq?  Please.  Barry OUTSPENT Iraq within a matter of weeks with the Pork Extravaganza, which has done “jack ship” to help the economy, and still has $350 billion in interest due on the back end.

Awfully selective…er, um, stupid…in the debts you choose to be angry about, huh?

“when they were actually hurting the future of this country by blindly supporting the actions of a dry alcoholic.“

There’s nothing “blind” about supporting the actions of GWB.  To understand that he was a good President, one has to really look…not blindly follow what the MSM tells them to think.

You, on the other hand, blindly follow the Media’s Anointed One and ignore his racist past…his Anti-American past…and his history as a dry cokehead.

You voted for the least vetted, least qualified man to ever hold that office.  And now your grandchildren are really paying for it.

I won’t ask if you’re proud of your actions because you’re the dumbest man in America.

“$1 trillion spent on a needless adventure”

And free Iraq doesn’t mean anything to you, of course, since there was no homosexuals or pedophiles to befreed there.

I see you got another moron - Ricky, join the liberal dio with Ronnie.

Well, I hope you three stoogies have fun… as long as Ron doesn’t get jealous.

Speaking of Ron - he must have forgotten he already recommended to me to use spell check like he and his wife do.

I do not care about style or occasional misspelling and typos.

I’d rather stick to substance and truth.

“In fact, you’ve never said that either.“

In fact, I said that from the first day of the invasion - and I’ve posted that comment here many times during our discussions regarding the stupid decisions of the Bush Administration.

Its all in the archives, feel free to go back and search the topics - on your own time, not mine.

But I like your “I am rubber, you are glue” rebuttal - so kindergarten level for a preschooler like you.

“Or…he continually threw them out to hide his stockpiles of, at the very leas, chemical and biological weapons.“

No stupid - did you read the post?

He threw them out to avoid having the inspector learn he HAD NO STOCKPILES of chemical or biological weapons.  Saddam had jack ship (sp) and DIDN’T WANT the world to know he had nothing.

“He chose not to.  The rest is history.“

A very calculated risk on his part. He lost that round.  Of course, once the truth was known, he was S.O.L. regardless - so same end result.

“I understand you’re angry that America…led by GWB…liberated a country full of Muslims and won the War in Iraq.“

No, I’m angry at the loss of American troops, the life-changing injuries to tens of thousands our troops, the lost lives of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens (including pregnant women whose babies died with them) and the nearly $1 trillion spent on a needless adventure - debt to be paid by my grandchild’s children - led by G Walker B, Texas Ranger.

I am also angry at his failure to capture bin Laden - due to W, T.R. taking his eye off the real goal which was the War on Terror, to dabble in Iraq.

I am not angry, but saddened, by the fact there are Americans like you that just don’t get it and think they’re helping by waving the flag when they were actually hurting the future of this country by blindly supporting the actions of a dry alcoholic.

Thankfully, the majority of American voters are a little brighter and chose a new direction for the next eight years.

I won’t ask if you’re proud of your actions because you’re too dumb to know the difference.

“He and Ron are masters of twisting the truth and they use statistics no differently than the way drunks use lamp posts - to justify their absurd liberal arguments, not for ilumination…“

So using statistics to determine what the reality of a situation is, then using mathematical-based modeling to determine the most optimum solution based on a predetermined set of factors to achieve, is a liberal plot to destroy ‘Murika.  Right

Scorpio, you have long since passed the point of being absurd and have now reached new heights of gay-free fantasyland occupation while living in total self-denial clutching your 15th century English translation of a collection of 2000+ year old stories.

“They will defend Saddam, Castro, Chavez, the Honduras legally ousted leftist would be dictator… “

Here in the reality-based world of lying statistics and artificial man-made laws, the “dictator” of Honduras was the twice legally-elected president, and “legally ousted”  is called a military coup.

Oh, and while you’re not using statistics to prove anything that doesn’t fit your pre-conceived Jesusville World, you might at least use a dictionary.  It’s “illumination,“ with two “L"s, not “ilumination.“

“What I said was Saddam was posturing about having WMD and a strong military force simply to keep his enemies at bay”

In fact, you’ve never said that either.

No matter how many times you try to revise history, you’ll never be able to make yourself look less dumb…or less dishonest…than I already know you to be.

Yes, the UN sanctions were so effective, in fact, that the inspectors had full and unfettered accedss to all of Saddam’s manufacturing facilities.

Or…he continually threw them out to hide his stockpiles of, at the very leas, chemical and biological weapons.

He had every opportunity…too many to even count…and every toothless warning the UN could muster…to avoid the conflict that resulted in him being called to account for the mass murder, rape, and kidnapping he committed.

He chose not to.  The rest is history.

I understand you’re angry that America…led by GWB…liberated a country full of Muslims and won the War in Iraq.

I know you refuse to admit that our victory in Iraq is a good thing.

These are traits common to the mental illness that is called liberalism.  The same disease that’s currently ensuring that our economy will never recover from it’s Democrat-created implosion, our deficits explode, our defenses weaken, and our greatness trashed forever.

I know you’re glad to be a part of the destruction of a once proud republic.

Who needs Al Qaeda, when we have sickened fools like yourself and Bungling Barry to do the job from the inside out?

wow ray,  we might need to ease up on old scorp.

in the last hours ive questioned his sexuality and you’ve called him communist.  I dont know if he can handle it all.

oh well,  im sure he belongs to a “The governments out to get me” support group that will help him work through his anger.    It seems to be working so well for him to this point.

“Your (and any other ultra-liberal) problem is you start by looking on things from the liberal prospective instead of searching for the truth on which to build your world views.“

You mean instead of looking at world events for things from the conservative prospective - cherry picking it is called - rather than to search for the truth on which to build world views - open minded it is called.

How come if you do it - it is okay, but if I do it, it is wrong?

See scorps, it is not that your ideas are wrong - after all, opinion can’t be wrong - it is that you don’t, won’t can’t accept that someone else can think different than you.

Is this related to your communist upbringing in the old country - where individual thought was frowned upon?
