LETTER: Barker endorses Bell for 13th

John Bell can be an outstanding member of the Virginia House of Delegates. He can provide great, effective representation for Prince William County.
Many new candidates for the state legislature have a genuine desire to serve. Few, however, grasp the critical issues and their subtleties the way John Bell has.
Many candidates have ideas, often ideas that sound good but that have no chance of being enacted. Few, however, listen and learn as John Bell has done so that his proposals not only sound good but
can be implemented.
Many candidates have an ideology. Few, however, have John Bell’s ability to go beyond ideology to what is in the best interest of the people, to what can work, to what will make our community a better
place.
I am impressed by John Bell. John Bell would help us in the legislature find common ground to get things done, to forge the bipartisan solutions that would serve the interests of the people we represent. I
would love to have John Bell as a partner in the General Assembly, working with me to serve you, to make Virginia and Prince William County the best places they can be.
Please vote for John Bell and send him to Richmond to work with us to make things better.
VIRGINIA STATE SENATOR GEORGE BARKER

liberaliesd - when are you going t0o apologize for your disgusting mockery of Creigh Deeds speech? Oh thats right slugs like you can’t apologize, you are above such trivial aspects of decency. and to dismiss me is yet another example of your incredible arrogance. You should crawl back under your rock.
You are beneath contempt.
Great ideas are great ideas no sense in talking to you. But thank you.
Hey GP who built your house? Did you chop the wood and drive the nails yourself? Tell me it couldn’t be a (gasp) developer!!!!
You sound like so many of the Republicans in congress with their I got mine screw everybody else whining. It is not the fault of developers or the people who seek to move out here.
Your party harps on deregulation and then cries foul if developers take advantage of it. Developers and residents and government at all levels need to work together to ensure everyones interests get fair consideration and to make sure we grow intelligently. That has not always been the case in PWC or NOVA in general, but that does not mean we should single out a single business or industry and paint them as evil as you do.
What factual event do you mean liberaliesd (i see you crawled out from under your rock again)? The fact that one of Bob’s bills was blocked? Bob should be used to it, he has one of the worst records in the House for getting bills passed. Most of his bills are flawed or push a personal perspective that may or may not be realistic and doable or even desirable.
Perhaps Bob’s knee-jerk reaction to every issue is what’s at fault here not the developers and real estate firms. The 13th district and Virginia will continue to grow and develop and only a carefully considered and cooperative approach can ensure we preserve our open space, safe guard our legacy, and produce a community that is livable, viable, and sustains our quality of life. You can not dictate the Marshall dream of state controlled reproduction and zero growth. Only through discussion and cooperation will Virginia continue to prosper into the future.
And bob talks about avoiding big government and yet he wanted to add an entire layer of legislative bureaucracy
over every secretariat in the state, eroding the separation of powers and adding cost and complexity in the name of cost savings. Hardly a small government solution liberaliesd.
Since when is a factual event an attack? Seems to me that Sen. Barker supports John Bell’s social attacks on Marshall.
There goes “GP” again. When you can’t defend your candidate’s record, attack your opponent…that seems to be the game plan GP has copied from Karl Rove’s playbook.
Senator Barker blocked legislation by Del Marshall which would have made mandatory conflict of interest disclosure of land-use advisory committees. No surprise he would support John Bell who is “in bed” with real estate developers from Fairfax. Check out John Bell’s VPAP site.
Sen Barker and John Bell will do the work of real estate developers together if John Bell is elected.
Then again what has Barker done?
