LETTER: Corey Stewart for Anderson

» 35 Comments | Post a Comment

When Rich Anderson first came to me and asked me how he should run his campaign for 51st District delegate, I told him to knock on doors till he wore out his shoes. I did this because there’s no better
way to get votes, and because it teaches a candidate how to be a good public servant. It is a lesson I learned from Michele McQuigg, who left the same job in 2007 to become Prince William County’s
Clerk of Court. Rich Anderson took my advice and has spoken to many of you at your homes. I strongly support Rich for Delegate. Here’s why:

McQuigg’s successor as 51st District delegate, Paul Nichols, is a nice guy. But Nichols has failed to show any dedication to the job, any commitment to real transportation solutions for Prince William
commuters and has completely failed to live up to McQuigg’s standards of constituent service. Paul Nichols is more interested in talking than delivering.

Nichols talks about Metro, but he is all talk. Metro to Prince William is not deliverable for at least 20 to 30 years, if ever. Nichols talks about stopping HOT Lanes, but in two years he has done nothing to
stop them. Nichols has failed to bring a single dime of new transportation funding to Prince William. Notta. Nothing.

Prince William citizens want action not partisan blather. That is why I support Rich Anderson. He is independent-minded and focused on results. He has shown me he is too honorable to mislead his
constituents into believing that Metro to Woodbridge is a short-term possibility. Instead, Rich will work on real solutions, including the widening of Interstate 95, Route 1, and the Prince William County
Parkway. I look forward to working with Rich on deliverable transit solutions, like Bus Rapid Transit.

I enthusiastically endorse Rich Anderson. The 51st District deserves a true public servant in Richmond.

COREY A. STEWART

Chairman, Prince William Board of County Supervisors

Crime actually went down 19% despite a few murders, no where near as bad as Fairfax, Md. or D.C. Interesting that other local jurisdictions had recent rises in foreclosures yet PWC had a drop. All jurisdictions are running short on money in Va. thanks to the ineffective budget of Jody Wagner and Gov. Kaine. Sounds like Bonnie and Clyde. All of the highly liberal counties have higher budget deficts then PWC. Counties like Fairfax, P.G., Montgomery, etc. the list goes on. Talk about a drain on the budget of Va. and they complain about their transportation woes, haha.

“Chairmen Stewart has demonstrated a multitude of great leadership skills here in PWC. An indication of his effectiveness in running county government is your constant bashing of him.“

General Patton - did you actually read what you wrote before you pressed <send>?

“An indication of his effectiveness in running county government ...“ ??

Is this support by you due to the lower tax rate on our real estate assessments?  Hum, no, they went up.

Due to the surplus in the PWC budget?  No, PWC is actually running short on money and making large cuts in programs.

The fact PWC leads Virginia in foreclosures?  Crime prevention?  Just how many murders have there been in PWC this year?

Please share with us exactly what Corey has done that demonstrates “a multitude of great leadership skills here in PWC.“

This ought to be good.

Nichols should be glad he isn’t running against Marshall he would never have been elected. Why does it have to be about Spanish militarydad? Did Stewart imply anything negative about Spanish people? Sheesh people think that just because you pass a popular Resolution that you hate a certain race of people. To be brutally honest people prefer law and order Spanish people included.

Liberalised:

Been on the booze again.

I just re-read the article to be sure - Mr. Stewart can say what Del Nichols has not done, but why is Anderson the right person FOR the job?  Military career, honorable?  I know dozens of people that while they fit that description would not be ideal or a great fit in Richmond.  Instead of slamming the other guy, why not tell us WHY YOUR guy is qualified.  I can personally say I don’t want HOT lanes and I want to “work for real solutions”, but that doesn’t make me qualified to hold office either.  This seems like an awfully big step for him if he’s never held public office before.

Hey Stewart! Nothing in Spanish is spelled NADA not NOTTA. Or did you fire all the Spanish teachers too? Racists for Anderson!

Marshall has done far more than Nichols for the area when it comes to bills and laws. I let the record speak for itself.

What transportation has Delegate Bob Marshall brought to the county?

Funny how Corey Stewart never mentions the fact that Marshall and Nichols are both accountable for the same region.

How about Marshall, Stewart?  Where are the transportation improvements?

Marshall “has failed to bring a single dime of new transportation funding to Prince William. Notta. Nothing.“

General Patton is a female.

There is no honor in releasing someone’s arrest record when the person was not convicted of anything.

Yes, Anderson intended for us to believe Nichols was drunk driving.  That was not the case.

Save the honor talk for someone who believes it.

Xanadu.Who are you kidding! You probably don’t even live in Anderson’s district.
