LETTER: Picture was not appropriate
Published: November 24, 2009
Your eye-grabbing headline of Nov. 18 (Elliott put to death picture with the words “executed” stamped over his face) leaves little to be desired. What Elliott did was evil, but your picture/depiction of the
execution event is just gross.
At a time when newspapers are trying to survive in the digital age, this isn’t going to make people want to subscribe to your publication.

Reader Reactions
I see nothing wrong with the picture at all. Just because you are offended doesn’t mean everyone is. This man took 2 lives and was sentenced to death by a jury of his peers. The paper only reported on this execution giving readers the most updated news.
“... leaves little to be desired.“
So true. What more could could a reader desire.?
Is there a word for writing what you think you want to say, but in actuality saying the opposite?
PWC gets a thrill out of killings and such pictures. Paper therefore is giving the readers what they love and enjoy.
