LETTER: Politics as usual in the state of Virginia
Published: July 4, 2009
Seems like politics as usual. The media corrupts again. Governor Kaine associating his spending of tax payer money on his moonlighting job as chairman for the Democratic Party to that of the recent
disgust of the South Carolina’s governor’s trip to Argentina is pathetic. Let’s keep it real; let’s keep it here. We are focusing on the state of Virginia.
Should we all just sit back here and bring up ALL the disgusting behaviors of our elected officials — I think not; both parties have their downfalls — we are All human. None of us are immune to the
challenges of life. We must not blame a whole race or party of people for a handful of knuckleheads — let’s focus on our state, our home, our VIRGINIA.
Do Democrats really care? Abe Lincoln was the first Republican president; it was Abe who issued the Emancipation Proclamation to end slavery — not to the delight of democrats. The Civil Rights Act
was supported by the Republicans at a percentage rate higher than that of the Democrats — Republicans pushed this act. The father of former presidential candidate Al Gore, Jr. opposed the Civil Rights
Act —which his son never renounced. Lyndon B. Johnson praised the Republicans for their overwhelming majority to vote for this Act. Richard Nixon, a Republican, instituted Affirmative Action to level
the wrongs done to minorities; it was the Democrats that twisted this action as an entitlement.
Democrats distort the truth about their true self, again, just for the vote. They will not have a voting base if minorities were out of poverty. The social programs of the Democrats do not work; can not we
see how the many years of their programs took to result in the disaster of this present day? You can not blame this on the Bush administration. There are a lot of wonderful folks running for important
offices in our Commonwealth, but if we compare the integrity and might of them all, we must confess that, indeed, the integrity of God and Country will suffice. Let’s make Virginia RED again. Let’s make
Virginia Country again. Let’s wake up and smell the Democrats. Let’s bring this one home for all people of our Commonwealth who loves VIRGINIA. Vote red for integrity, honesty and loyalty! The few and
proud Republicans!

In other words Phdee you declared your own argument about Dixiecrats turning into Republicans moot, and you know of no one who did. I rest my case again and again. Of course Byrd brings home the bacon for West Virginia, he is still a racist and never renounced his past did he? Get back to me when you find anything of the sort out. LOL Chris Cummings .

Thanks for telling me about the Democrat to Dixiecrat switch——I already knew about that.
And thanks for telling me about Strom. I also knew about that.
If only you had asked. Erroneous on your part to claim my ignorance of history….claiming I knew nothing about such when it was never even brought up, You’re looney.
There is only so much space on the site. I don’t care to publish a historical account of a matter. I prefer to stick to the topic.
Sen. Byrd has never been the topic of my postings. He is or was a longtime Democratic racist from W. Va. whose primary function is to bring home the acon to that state.
Recheck your history Phdee, the Dixiecrat Party was an offshoot of the Democrat Party. In addition if you look at some of the things Strom Thurmond said as a Democrat or Dixiecrat <States Rights Democrat Party> before he turned Republican, anybody today would find what he said abhorrent. However as a Republican he voted against Polling taxes, for Voting Rights Act, against the lynching of blacks, and voted for the MLK holiday and had a black mistress or girlfriend and secretly supported his daughter from that union for the rest of his life. Boy do you have a lot to learn about history. Did Byrd ever switch parties or denounce his KKK membership and high rank? Has he commented negatively about blacks in almost every decade he has been in office, well the answer to that one is yes. LOL Chris Cummings

ZCX doesn’t check anything. He hears or reads about some issue and then fills in the story with fiction. As Paul Harvey said: Now you’ve heard the rest of the story.
Chris,
“...most of the Dixiecrats did not join the Republican Party”.
So, you went back to the record & checked the post-vote political careers of those Dixiecrats who voted against the act?
ZCX:
:et’s see.. Strom Thurmond ran for President on the Dixiecrat ticket. Became a republican. Maybe Dixiecrats went straight from being Dixiecrats to Republican.
It was Trumann, not Eisenhoer, who integrated the military. That’s part of the reason the South went dixiecrat.
Where did the Dixierats go? The Diiecrat states are now all Republican and racist.
“yellow dog” - never heard this term used politically. Have heard it in labor relations field - yellow dog contracts.
I don’t know the exact origin of the KKK, but I sure know Indiana and other midweatern states were some of the leaders. My, haven’t you see or read of KKK in fluence in US history, DC parades, etc. The KKK seemed to be everywhere - and prominent. The country has moved on…...
Your posting to mainemom is mostly nonsense and inaccuracies as usual.
i understand that you can’t believe you are wrong, just lay down your bong pipe and study the non revisionist history of the Democrat Party. Pretty scary huh??? LOL Chris Cummings
“Political Casualty” ? Hmm yeah sure. I have stated many sources now state yours, if you can??? Don’t be afraid read the real truth, live it learn it. Are you a liberal historian???? LOL Chris Cummings
ZXC:
I forgot to ask. How many of those Google hits on racist Democarats were on the South. I certainly don’t deny the south at one time was primarily Democratic and racist. Tried racist Republicans on Google?
Eisengpwer is just ONE. You alleged it was historians, the media, and just about everyone else who was wrong. Google hits mean nothing…anyone can post anything. I’m looking for YOUR truthful sources and facts.
Well. Truman integrated the armed forces. South then went Dixiecrat in the election. Eisenhower nationalized theArkansas National Guard in Little Rock, Kennedy in a short time was into civil rights. Johnson sure was - read his remarks on what the political casualty would be when he signed civil rights legislation.
The civil rights movement started back in the 50’s - remember Brown vs. Board Supreme Court decision in 1954, Rosa Parks in 1955, etc. Johnson had the white savages in the 60’s.
Remember “massive resistance” in Va. in 185 and school closings - all to defy the US Supreme Court. One of the most lawlessness activities in recent memory - should have been treason or criminal charges against the Republican white trash politicians.
All these events and political eras led to the South going from racist Democratic to republiucan —the Repub primary constituency today is the racist South and its evangelicals. Look at how the south;s closet racists ALL voted against Obama. The repub party has gone from a wealthy elitist to a racist religious one, primarily in the racist South.
Face it!!! So whump and thump it a little.
