LETTER: What is Torian’s background?

» 22 Comments | Post a Comment

Now that the Democratic primary is over, I am VERY curious as to the educational background of Luke Torian. Never once that I saw was anything published about
military, college, etc. How about searching or digging and let the citizens of Prince William County know the truth?

Joni -

It is you who fail to admit you are wrong.  You love to read something and then pretend you are an expert. Take for instance your recent posting on unions.  I have never read of such ignorance - not even a BASIC knowledge of how unions opperate, the laws governing them, ec.  And when called on it, you ask for proof. In other words, you thought you were correct when you had little factual information - grade school knowledge.

I really liked that claim by you that CEO’s sign a union contract for their job. Really hillarious.

Dee and Rain3fly ....I have noticed something about you both over these weeks and that whenever you are proved to be ignorant, smug, bias or just plain WRONG you lash out, you attack, you refuse to EVER just say, wow, I was wrong. It isn’t a very pretty trait and maybe you should work on it.

When you find out you are wrong, you both go over the edge and attack like mad dogs.  Too bad, honest exchange of ideas is what it’s all about.

I may not agree with you on some issues, I am sure we agree more than we disagree, too bad, you come across as someone who attacks when they can’t think of a “come back”

Well, the “folks back home” are always saying “we’ve got elect….to Washington”, i.e. giving DC a bad name.

Well, it is the folks back home who elect the candidates to serve in Washington.  Then, the folks back home go out and re-elect them.

religious wacko ha ha ha ha ha ha ME?  ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

what a joke…..ha ha ha ha ha ha

I believe in a woman’s right to choose,(OMG what a surprise) I also believe in Gay Marriage (No, no, it’s can’t be true),and I believe in prosecuting Priests(or anyone for that matter) who molest children.

I helped set up the first PW T.E.A. PARTY, but refused to take part in the next one cause it became a GOP event instead of what WE originally intended. (A platform for all people from all parties to protest the out of control spending of both the Bush and Obama Administrations)

Too bad you HATERS never really read posts from people who disagree with you on some issues, you miss out on getting to know people who agree with you more than they disagree with you…mmmmm interesting isn’t it…

oh and since it seems you people never really read posts, let me enlighten you once again,

I am a social liberal and a fiscal conservative.  I BELIEVE IN A SMALL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT that does what it was meant to do, defend the nation. I am now more of a libertarian except for the whole isolationist part.  I HATE the federal government for over stepping it’s authority NO MATTER WHICH PARTY IT IS and I believe in States Rights (ever heard of the 10th Amendment? If not,go to

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

and read about it)

I don’t give a HOOT if they are GOP or DEM if they can’t tell the truth, then I wont support them. I think it is more about COMMON SENSE than ideology and if you really read my posts, you would understand my views have nothing to do with religion.

I think the US Congress has become nothing more than a place where a bunch of power hungry egotists will do anything to get re elected and do NOTHING for those they represent.  I do howeve think that about 60% of our citizens have no idea whatis going on in that Capitol buildning in DC.

Now, lighten up a little, in case you didn’t read my post I was STANDING up for Dr Torian even tho I do not agree with any of his policies.  Geeeeeesh…..

you people REALLY need to lighten up a little…it was a little political humor….the whole telling the truth thing cause we all know in order to be a politician you have to be a good liar..

LIGHTEN UP ALREADY…

Here I was, trying to be a good person, pointing out that while I may not agree with his politics, it seemed he had the education the original writer tried to insinuate he didn’t (when they could have done a quick web search and found out the answer without insinuating something was amiss)

btw… I was at the Dale City Farmers Market this morning and saw no political table for Dr. Torian, maybe I was just there early, but I choose to think they decided it was not a good thing, a minister’s flock being out on Sunday morning stumping for their politician?( I wrote on that once)

(if you saw them there later, please don’t burst my bubble and tell me)

Hold,
This is no reflection on Dr. Torian, but rather religious wackos like Joni who judges people by superficial categories.  It’s fine to be religious but it’s also important to act accordingly and support issues that are in accordance with one’s beliefs.  I was simply pointing out that being a “Man of God” (i.e. having the title of Reverand) is no guarantee of integrity.
Just to set the record straight….

Hey Rainfly,
The folks you mentioned are good friends of Bob McDonnell, not Dr. Luke Torian.

Just thought I’d set the record straight.

Flag Comment Posted by Hold Elected Officials Accountable on June 21, 2009 at 10:37 am

Lucille,
Dr. Torian joined a small church with a modest income of $400,000 per year and under his successful leadership it has grown to 4,000 members and an annual income of 4.5 million dollars.

Luke is a man of integrity. He is fully supported by his congregation and is a man of faith and family values.

He is a pragmatic Conservative who believes in low taxes and support for small businesses.

He will work for transportations solutions, to create jobs in the Commonwealth and renegotiate the funding formula to bring more of our tax dollars back home to PWC.

Now lets look at his opponent.

A 26 year old arrogant punk, who works as a network engineer and is unable to make time to meet his campaign obligations. He simply isn’t ready to step up to the job of Delegate.

Dr. Torian is mature, ready and willing!
