LETTER: What’s the plan, Cuccinelli?
Published: October 23, 2009
In your Oct. 20 endorsement of Ken Cuccinelli for Attorney General, one of your principal reasons given was his ability to take on the full responsibility of the job. Yet, public safety is unarguably a top
priority of that job, and his Web site’s absence of public safety goals as attorney general has left me questioning your rationale: Did you consider if Cuccinelli is really capable of protecting ALL Virginians,
and why have you seemingly overlooked this issue?
Fact is, Cuccinelli still has not released any plan to make Virginia a safer place. The only thing remotely approaching a plan on his Web site is the line, “As Virginia’s Attorney General, public safety will
be my top priority.” Meanwhile, Steve Shannon’s Web site lists details to fight sexual predators, drunk drivers, gangs, drug dealers and government corruption.
While Shannon has a publicly available plan to improve the safety of our families, your endorsement painfully infers that Cuccinelli only has a plan to get elected. Cuccinelli has not even one accessible
plan to protect every Virginian and especially our children. The only thing Cuccinelli seems to offer is his rhetoric on protecting his far- right political agenda.

Ahh, Mr. Felmlee, now you’re quibbling. You said it’s “a top priority of that job,“ when it is, in fact, barely a responsibility of “that job.“ You certainly did NOT say that it’s “a top priority of the candidates.“
Shannon is trying to make this an issue because of his credentials as a prosecutor. Not a bad idea, particularly when you have NO law firm management experience, which is the primary responsibility of the job (that, and getting ready to run for Governor), and you are otherwise woefully ignorant of the office.
Mr. James Young,
You sir, this IS unarguable because BOTH candidates list public safety as their top priority, as Steve continually discusses this and Mr. Cuccinelli states it on his website (as i stated in the LTE) but has no plan—hence, my LTE.
1. Steve Shannon’s top priority is Public Safety (emails, tv ads, website, etc., etc.). I think we can agree that Steve’s top priority as AG is public safety.
2. Ken Cuccinelli’s top priority is Public Safety. Don’t believe me? Proof:
A) My Position: I believe that preserving public safety is the first responsibility of state government. Source: Top of webpage, http://www.cuccinelli.com/issues_public_safety.htm
B)As Virginia¡¯s Attorney General, Public safety will be my top priority. Source: Bottom of webpage, http://www.cuccinelli.com/issues_public_safety.htm
So Mr. James Young, how can it be argued when both candidates are on the record for it, and as such, unarguable? Please read the LTE again.
Oooo, “phdee,“ such a cowardly lion behind the veil of pseudonymity. I’m so impressed.
First, you merely demonstrate your ignorance by attempting to smear me as an “anti union hater,“ whatever that means (it’s either “anti-union,“ or “union hater,“ you ignorant fool). By mischaracterizing standing up for the rights of individuals as being “anti union,“ you merely display your own ignorance of the Right to Work concept, which merely is that no one should be forced to join or pay dues to an organization as a condition of getting or keeping a job, a principle to which more than two-thirds of Americans subscribe. Either that, or you are so steeped in far Left propaganda that you can’t tell the difference.
As for “2 bit lawyer,“ not too many “2 bit lawyer[s]“ persuade the Supreme Court to take, or argue before the Supreme Court. I have done both, on two and one occasions, respectively.
However, many cowardly “2 bit” rubes inveigh on the Internet while hiding behind the veil of pseudonymity.
Could it be that the Republicans are dipping into their scum and slime basket and bringing out the “big boys”,—namely the anti union hater, 2 bit lawyer, etc. to engage in name clling? Perhaps big Jim Young thinks he is talking to a union worker.
Anyone with the brain of a babboon, who has read Coo-coo-nelli’s campaign matgerial and interviews know he is going to pursue those law which he does like, which he thinks are unconstitutional, and pursue his own beliefs. In other words, a kook without a thesis.
Sure seems like he is itching for a Virginia showdown with the federal govt.
Another “massive resistance” tactic? May be.
Coo coo is dangersous. Needs to be crushed.
“public safety is unarguably a top priority of that job”
All that you demonstrate with this letter, Mr. Felmlee, is that you are woefully ignorant about the responsibilities of the Attorney General. Nearly as ignorant as Steven Shannon.
