LETTER: Where are we heading?

» 110 Comments | Post a Comment

The more I read, hear or see, the more disgusted I get with the direction our country is taking. It seems that the right to vote is the only privilege we have left. All power seems to be left to our so-called
leaders, political or otherwise. They deserve a kick, not a pat on the back. Their action or practices go far beyond the liberal status — they are not very extreme in nature.

Time, or space, does not permit me to go into detail. However, I shall elaborate on some of my concerns.

In our nation’s capital the political leaders seem to be on the verge of approving “same-sex marriage.” Their action will be the same as that taken by some of our states. Of course, Congress has the right
to review it, but I doubt that they will prevent it from becoming a law. Same-sex marriage is wrong and disgraceful, it has no place in our society. Some people have lost their pride and dignity. Those who
are allowing it to happen will live to regret their complacency. The Second Amendment can grant rights and privileges, but it now seems to be taking away entirely too much from those who have decency,
integrity and common sense.

These are troubled times, economically. Millions of people have lost their jobs and are struggling to make ends meet. Our political leaders are telling people to sacrifice, re-evaluate and to adjust. Have
you heard of the president, members of Congress, governors or state legislators suggesting that their salaries be cut? Of course not? They can tell others what to do, but they are unwilling to set an
example. Do they know or care that about 50 Methodist bishops agreed to have their salaries cut?

The United States Senate has voted to allow passengers to carry guns on Amtrak. Amtrak has to agree or it will lose $116 billion in subsidies. Now Amtrak rights are comparable to those of the airlines.
Of course, this too relates to Second Amendment rights. All of the subsidy monies come from us taxpayers.

How did we ever get along for many, many years without all this nonsense?

“People are marrying their dogs and what not - I particularly remember the news about the British lady who married a… dolphine!“

scorpio, I’m very proud of you.

You lasted three full days before you kicked over the game board and demanded the pieces be reset so you could start your tirade over at square one.

And yet, no matter how many times you play the game, the outcome is going to be the same.  Your position loses.

Homosexuality is a trait in the DNA of a person and despite your desire that that wasn’t so - it remains a fact of how man is created.

If you want to get upset at anyone for this, you need to talk directly to the Big Guy above and voice your concerns to Him.

“All in the name of the war against God!“

And the funny thing is, it is YOU that is waging war against the word of God.

God said ‘before you were formed in the womb, I knew you’.

Pray tell, who are you to challenge the creation of God?

Approximately 75% of Americans identify themselves as Christian.  I don’t think Christianity is going anywhere soon.

My point only is for ‘me’ heterosexuality is the ‘only’ choice.  If this is the ‘only’ path for me, why then would I think a homosexual would have any other choice for them?

I don’t have all the answers, unlike a lot of other’s who comment on these threads, so I have to trust in God to judge.  It may seem like the easy thing to do but believe me, it takes work to leave the judging to God alone. I am constantly trying to keep myself in check.

As for the rest of your diatribe, please try and leave some of this to God, he is much better equipped to handle this judgement stuff.

Living ‘your’ life the best you can is all that is required.  We all know how passionate you are about his subject but people will believe what is right for them and no amount of harassment will change their minds.

Jesus preached love and acceptance.  Why not give it a try?

Just a thought….

scorpio, in what crazy little world of yours do you see the logic of grouping feminist with communist and nazis?

That doesn’t make any sense at all.

And if you believe everything about homosexuals is so horrible, why would anybody choose it? They wouldn’t. Therefore, not a choice, just the way they are born.

vmj, have you been brainwashed by Ray Williams or whatever his real name is?Have you bought all the lies about homosexuality?

Would you trust Ray Williams’s absurd arguments and nonsense or would you listen to what honest homosexuals say about homosexuality?

Of course it is a matter of choice - thieves choose to steal; pedophiles choose to molest; polygamists choose to have multiple partners etc.

You do not choose to be heterosexual - we are all created to be such with inalienable rights which do not include “right” to sodomize or have sex with a goat or “right” to make porn movies.

It all started with the Darwinian hypothesis - I wouldn’t call it theory.

In about one and a half century the humanity has experienced redefining of traditions and morality the world had known for millenia.

Feminists, communists, nazis, homosexualists etc. embraced Darwin’s ideas and use them to defend and justify their own agenda.

Remove God from the arena, spread false ideas, deny avbsolute truth and suddenly anything goes.

Ray will tell you that A and B are equally true despite the fact that A is totally different from B - Ray will tell you that it is like ice cream - vanilla or chocolate… and some people are buying this?!?!

You walk on the street and you can’t tell who is a man and who is a woman nowadays.

You see homosexual parades with all kind of inappropriate “acts” performed on the street in braod daylight and the police staying and watching silently out of fear the mighty ACLU will go after them and bankrupt the city with a huge law suit if they do their job.

Polygamists are filing law suits against the government around the globe asking for “rights” like the homosexuals.

People are marrying their dogs and what not - I particularly remember the news about the British lady who married a… dolphine!

It will only get more absurd and desructable and in a very short period - just like a building with bad foundaion, everything will collapse.

All in the name of the war against God!

scorpio

I post under vmj, ray posts under raywilliams.  We are different in many ways, one being we are two different people posting under different names simply because we are ‘two’ different individuals….

You keep confusing our posts.  ray did not ask you this question and I do not drink, unfortunately for me considering right now one would be helpful.

If you choose to answer my original questions;

It may be a choice, but I could not make that choice.  There is only one way for me so why would I assume there is a choice for the homosexual?

Or better yet, do you choose to be straight?  Because if it’s a choice for you, I understand your problem with it.  But if your nature is straight and you never had to choose, why would you think it would be any different for anyone else?

These are relatively easy questions since they deal primarily with your thought process.

I am only trying to understand you a little better….

“I asked you how someone becomes homosexual?

It may be a choice, but I could not make that choice”

No kidding….

Just try to stay sober today - you write enough nonsense without booze anyway…

““Cleanse evil” from my heart…?!?“

When your time comes to stand at the Pearly Gates and ask for entrance to the Kingdom of Heaven, is Saint Peter going to judge you for the sins of man - or for the sins in your heart of which you have not asked forgiveness for?

scorpio, when you wake up in the morning and see Jesus, you are looking at a picture on the wall, not a mirror.

Who is converting who?!?

“Cleanse evil” from my heart…?!?

Raymonda - I told you to stop drinking!

“No, you’re not - it is obvious you have been “naughty” for some time…“

I asked you how someone becomes homosexual?

It may be a choice, but I could not make that choice.  There is only one way for me so why would I assume there is a choice for the homosexual?

Or better yet, do you choose to be straight?  Cause if it’s a choice for you, I understand your problem with it.  But if your nature is straight and you never had to choose, why would you think it would be any different for anyone else?

Logically, your argument doesn’t make sense.  This is precisely why I leave this judgement stuff to God.  I am just not equipped for it….

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness.“

Interesting.  And you feel by converting me, you will cleanse the evil from your own heart?

Because it is your heart for which you answer for in the eyes of God - not mine.
