LETTER: Where is the original thought?

In response to Mr. Casula’s letter of June 18, it’s a shame that letters in support of political candidates now consist of little more than copy-and-paste from the Web sites of those candidates.

Mr. Casula falsely asserts that Delegate Marshall “consistently voted against transportation initiatives.” Nothing could be further from the truth.

Let’s be clear; Delegate Marshall voted against HB 3202, which violated the Constitutional rights of all Virginians. Passed by a bipartisan group of feckless state legislators, this rotten bill was the epitome
of “the ends justify the means.”

Delegate Marshall was the only legislator with the courage to stand up for his constituents in the face of an onslaught which included members of his own party. In fact, Bob felt so strongly about granting
taxation powers to unelected individuals that he spent his own money to bring the case before the Virginia Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of Delegate Marshall that the
legislation was unconstitutional.

Fellow voters of the 13th District, whether you’re Democrat or Republican I think we can all agree that this level of moral courage is uncommon in our politicians today. It’s clear that we can count on Bob
to do the right thing and stand up for his constituents, even when it’s difficult, and even when it requires that he stand against his own party to do so.

In November, I’ll be casting my vote in favor of Bob, to thank him for protecting my Constitutional rights as a Virginian. I’d encourage you to do the same.

you mean the so called energy bill with the extra 300 pages of bribery slipped in at 3:09 in the morning? what a joke, thought these bills were going to be posted for 5 days and actually READ by our elected officials.  The head of the committee didn’t even know what was in the bill, we are being sold down the river….without a paddle. You all asked for it, you got it.

Mr.Smith,

You are correct, there was no original thought. This is why the liberals have been so successful lately. They feed miss information to their voters who have become disconnected with reality in some cases.

Once Americans realize the tax burden being placed by President Obama’s energy bill, and the huge costs associated with it, they might wake up and see the light before it is too late.

You think it is difficult now to sell a home, wait til the energy requirements go into effect, and those with older homes have to incur huge costs to bring their homes up to new standards of energy efficiency prior to selling them.  All those homes with older windows and appliances will have to be replaced prior to selling your home, as well as a increase burden in taxes to pay for additional legislation coming down the pike.

Wake-up PWC residents.  The Energy bill voted in favor by Congressman Connolly, usurps state rights on the issue of energy conservation. Are only hope is that it will be viewed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
