LETTER: Wife reveals real John Bell
Published: October 30, 2009
I’m writing to ask you to support my husband John Bell on Nov. 3 in his candidacy for the Virginia House of Delegates. John is my husband so I’m naturally biased, but I’d like to share a few things about
John on a personal level.
John is a person who truly cares about people and who gets results. I have seen John in a variety of roles from Air Force NCO to officer, father, friend, coach and now candidate and he has excelled in
every role. People have always turned to John to get difficult things done, and he has always exceeded their expectations. John is the kind of person who does what it takes to get the job done.
I remember many a time sending him off to deployments with the kids by my side, wiping the tears from their eyes as they saw daddy off, but there was a job to do and someone had to go and John
would never say no when duty called. Through the many years we’ve been together we have always been involved in our communities, from working with church groups to orphanages, to VA hospitals.
One of John’s passions is spending his time volunteering as head coach for Freedom High School’s tennis team. John is a great mentor for these boys and he teaches them how to work hard and what it
means to make a commitment to something and give it your all. They would be out there in freezing temperatures practicing and never complain because they knew they had someone helping them that
really cared about them and wanted to make them better. They’ve come so far in the last two years and we are so proud of them.
Simply stated, John is a good caring person who will work his heart out for this district and we need someone like that right now. John has always been my hero and given the opportunity will do a great
job for the 13th. After 18 years, its time for someone with a vision to take us to a better place and move us in a positive direction, and that is why I ask you to support my husband John Bell.

Sad that this candidate is getting some funding from ACORN and affiliated groups, all the more reason to vote and vote often against him.
Of course biased, silly.
“ ... has done this already for the residents of the 13th District.“
Sounds like John Bell will serve ALL the people of his District, rather than just the view that share his views.
“Apparently Colonel Rich Anderson outperformed Major John Bell in the Air Force on more than one level.“
GP, please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Anderson is running against Nichols and Bell is running against Marshall.
Colonel or Major - some claim military experience is all that is needed to serve as a delegate.
In the 13th District, the military experience of John Bell demands our support and our vote.
general patton - you are always rude. Since I first started reading these posts you have repeatedly insulted other posters, demeaned those who disagree with you, evaded any questions about your candidates conduct and continuously attack the messenger.
Your stock and trade has always been half-truths and outright lies. You and your cohorts have bought into the Karl Rove school of politics so deeply you can’t see another way of doing things. You have been repeatedly admonished about repeating the lie long enough to make people believe it and that is right on the mark.
The only thing more outrageous than the lies you perpetuate here is your disdain for the rights of homosexuals. Your clear belief that to listen to the views of and address the rights of ALL citizens is wrong, articulates better than anything I or others could write here your discriminatory mindset that seeks to blur or eliminate the separation of church and state.
The founding fathers created that separation for a good reason and now over two centuries later you, Marshall, cuccinelli and the others on the right wing seek to establish a religion based government that places theology ahead of democracy.
You fail to reason, fail to discuss and instead can only lie, distort, and insult. jones criticism of you is right on the mark and all who read these posts know that.
That “information” is factually incorrect. John Bell registered to vote HERE IN VA in 2007. He originally registered to vote at the age of 18 and voted by absentee ballot for decades while he SERVED OUR COUNTRY AROUND THE WORLD IN THE AIR FORCE (which is far more of a burden and shows far more commitment than simply going down the block to your local polling place). Get your facts straight. I think you should thank John Bell for fighting for your right to spout off on forums like these.
More factual information about John Bell. According to public records he registered to vote in August of 2007. Did not bother to vote in 2008 in his own Democratic Primary. According to Jones, he or she doesn’t think this information is important but simply ‘rude"Keep drinking that Kool-Aid!
JONES19763:
It is disappointing that pointing out “factual” information is considered “rude” by you. A typical response from a liberal whose only plan for change is “hope”
There’s only one word to describe “General Patton”: Rude. It’s people like him who make people disgusted with politics. I’m willing to bet that he’s done more to turn voters away from Bob Marshall than anything else. Keep it up…
Interesting title of this letter’Wife reveals the real John Bell”. No actually The Washington Gay Blade Magazine,Virginia Public Access Project, and Blue Virginia has done this already for the residents of the 13th District.
