LETTER: Wilson is no racist

» 45 Comments | Post a Comment

I would like to express my outrage at the stupidity of the comments being made about Rep. Joe Wilson’s statement.

I am disgusted that other congressmen and women, as well as ex-presidents, are calling this man a racist. Am I one because I do not believe in the health care plan that President Obama wants to put
into effect? I am not racist because of this. I do not agree with his policies and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

I hope that the people of Virginia and the rest of the country come to their senses and forgive Wilson on his comment as President Obama has. Just because someone does not agree with him, it should
not give the right to others to call him something that he is not.

It should be about policies and issues, not about race. I hope that our country has not slid backwards on an issue like this.

I find it offensive that certain individuals claim that i am racist for not liking Obama’s policies. I am Puerto Rican believe me i know about racism and the difference between ignorant policies and laws, or just plain cr**** ideas.

phdee, here is a homework for you:

Is Davon Gray a “racist” too? Or Ken Hutcherson? Or Jesse Lee Peterson? Or Michael Steele? etc. etc. etc….

Here is a bonus question for you:

Does Joe Biden’s statement that Obama is the “first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy” make Joe Biden less “racist” than those who express their concerns and disagreement with Obama’s ultra-liberal policies?

Scorpio:

Sorry.  It isn’t a “trick” pulled from the hat by Democrats—it is a accurate word chosen to describe howling hatemongering Republicans.

Godsaver:

My calling Wilson a racist is based on not only his being from a viciously racist state but his falling into the anti-Obmaa racist tactics.

I have relatives in SC, by the way - and there is racism they admit.

Racism is not or has grown extint.  Tons of racists have merely been silenced by having to go in the closet. Their attitude and position has not changed - just the ability to publically display it.

So, go whistle dixie.

“Hater”, Racist”, “Bigot”... - it’s just another trick the brainless liberals pull out their sleeves when common sense and reason are absent from their arguments.

It is funny to think how many times Obama suporters label “racist” someone who doesn’t like where Obama is taking the country not realizing the person they are offending is of African-American ethnicity…

“Racism or discrimination comes in various shapes and sizes.  If we don’t have :A”, then we pick “B” for discrimination. America’s history is full of discrimination.”

You make my point , your logic “If southern is racist> Joe Wilson is” ;do not make sense, since in the north are racist as well , that statement is not valid point. Racists are only a minority in extinction that Democrats use to divide the country , however there is no proof that Rep. Wilson has a racist background. His action was wrong and he apologies , but is action was not racist.

I would hope somebody would call the authorities if they blow out the roof and build one of those Godawful McMansions and if they don’t speak English it should not matter and we shouldn’t coddle them.

Actually the country was built on the backs of legal immigrants mostly. We are all illegal immigrants to this land including the Indians. Then again that was mostly before the US existed and slavery ended in 1865 although some people are still living in the past. You all know who you are rednecks, apologists, liberals, etc. This includes people like Hillary Clinton, Senator Byrd, Congresswoman Lee, Senator Lott, former President Carter. PWC actually got high marks for quality of services and well being in a recent study polled to residents. I guess that Resolution worked and worked well.

phdee So you have met—- so have I. Get it????

Got it.
So be part of the solution, not the problem. Judge by content of Character not skin color. If you hate your brother , you have committed murder. Love your neighbor as yourself. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
You do what is legal and just and right, today for your black, native, white, red, polish, zionist, latino, irish, jewish, muslim, christian, sikh, very complicated American neighbor.
But for heaven sake if nobody can’t speak english and they blow out the roof to add two stories of rooms and bathrooms and you don’t see a permit in the window.
Call somebody. ha

Godsaveus:

I don’t overlook or ignore racism or discrimination that occurs outside the South. I was keeping my focus on the Wilson incident, who is from SC. I had no intentions of openingmup US racism as a whole - we’d never get done.

Racism or discrimination comes in various shapes and sizes.  If we don’t have :A”, then we pick “B” for discrimination. America’s history isz full of discrimination.

Didn’t watch Mathews show - can’t comment.
