Letter writer uses smear tactics
Published: March 9, 2008
It would seem that Robert Molleur’s answer to the problem of illegal aliens is to smear those who disagree with him, as he did in his letter, “Barg should return to writing cookbooks,” March 5, 2008.
He does not say how much it will cost to round up and deport the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens; perhaps he doesn’t know. Does anyone know?
Does he expect them to return by themselves? Would he willingly return to a country from which he was brought as an infant, 20 years ago, and has never seen? Would he, after escaping the poverty of his native land and risking death to establish a life free from want, willingly return to that life of poverty?
What would Mr. Molleur want his government to do if the governments of the countries of the illegal aliens should refuse to allow them to return? That is the sovereign right of those countries.
If liberalism is, in fact, a mental disorder, is it any worse than the opposite disorder of conservatism, that produced the pharoahs, Roman emperors, Ghengis Khan, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse-Tung, and Osama bin Laden? Does Mr. Molleur have the courage and integrity to answer the above questions? I would like, liberal that I am, to think that he does. We shall see.

zcx, the immigrants do not get equal treatment and fairness. You are confused between what is “Caesar"s” (taxes) and what is religious. The country (supposedly) was founded upon separation of church and state. Conservatives from the right wing Republican crowd (most are racist white trash who went from Dem to rep. to avoid integration) blast liberalism, but it just anti-Christ behavior.
Christ also believed in equal treatment and fairness. Why can’t illegals pay taxes and work over the table like the legal citizens? Are the laws of the US meaningless? Chris Cummings
Christ was a liberal.
