Liberal Arlingtonian racists and bigots
Published: May 18, 2008
What a bunch of racists — liberal Arlingtonians voicing concerns over the influx of illegal aliens from Prince William County at a recent County Board meeting.
What a bunch of bigots — liberal Arlingtonians concerned with County Board Chairman Walter Tejada’s scheme to turn vibrant neighborhoods into third world tenement ghettos under the guise of
Accessory Dwelling Units.
Now that a myriad of Arlingtonians have lived with it, they sound just as angry as folks in Prince William County classified as racist by some Arlingtonians for wanting to enforce the law. What hypocrisy.

Get out the oldies. Remember Tennessee Ernies’s song “Hick Town”. Fits Manassas well and parts of PWC.
An influx of hispanic people is nothing new to Arlington county. Folks in Arlington have lived side by side with hispanic (and other) immigrants for a long time, and Arlington still manages to be a prosperous, great place to live. Less traffic problems than PWC too, oddly enough.
Not everone in PWC is a “racist hick” - there are some great people here. Unfortunately a vocal minority make all of us look bad.
I thought this is what they wanted?? I mean all I heard last year was how much PWC is a bunch of racist hicks and how the ‘enlightened’ crowd in Arlington encouraged ‘progressive’ policies to welcome the illegal aliens. Here they come!!!
And now we come full circle to what I said months ago. Don’t shoot the contractor when it is the homeowner that drives down prices by hiring scab companies to work on their homes. cobra and I seem to agree on this one.
JVA,
I work in close to Arlington and believe me, not everyone in Arlington is wealthy. Same as Falls Church. There is plenty of degregation in South Arlington as well as Falls Church. I had to go to Home Depot there on route 50 a month or so. There must have been 30 men standing in the parking lot waiting to work. My point is that Wealthy America has no respect for working Americans. Those SOB’s who can afford to hire a reputable contractor will hire illegals instead to save a $1.
Deterioration of the quality of life in Arlington? You have to be freaking kidding. If by deterioration, you mean that its too expensive for many people to afford to live there, then you nailed it.
I lived in Arlington 10 years before moving to PWC not long ago. I’d be back in two seconds if I could afford to buy a house there.
Molleur’s letter is just ridiculous. For one thing, he has no idea about the politics of anybody protesting Tejada’s plans. There are plenty of conservatives in Arlington, particularly in these wealthy neighborhoods. Secondly, what is the point of this letter anyway? The anti-illegals in PWC have won. Get over it already.
Does not take long to figure out that all Hispanic Legislators on the local and national level support amnesty for illegal immigrants. Walter Tejada is no different. They want to take care of their brother & sisters at the expense of the American Taxpayer. It’s easy to sit back and criticize others until the mess lands on your door step. You will see similar articles about Fairfax Country soon. My brothers Fiancé and her Father are both retired Arlington County Policeman. They are sick to death of the Liberal Council there in Arlington. That’s liberals for you. They hate what America stands for and they want to see us taken down a peg. And on the National Level, Obama is the best you all could do? What a joke.
I grew up in Arlington and have watched the deterioration of quality of life take place because of the influx of illegal immigrants. Arlington’s location makes it still attractive to young professionals and keeps the housing market vibrant. Take a look at S. Arlington and Glebe Road and you will see that it looks like a third world country thanks to the elected officials who are turning Arlington into San Francisco. It is a shame because long time Arlington residents are planning on moving out of the county. Maybe, the elected officials will wake up and take control.
