To those against illegal immigration
Published: May 10, 2008
Those against illegal immigration, starting today, boycott all Mexican products, including our food, beer, tequila and our labor. If you are an American in the construction industry, I suggest joining the Union, because then you aren’t at risk of a Mexican taking your job. Americans and many legal immigrants believe that by having papers, their work habits shouldn’t be up to par, which leaves “illegals” employed.
Those against illegal immigration seem to blame children of immigrants for America’s problem. I didn’t choose to be Mexican-American, I just got lucky.
Assimilation will never be achieved without some kind of amnesty, which may not even involve green cards, but valid IDs given by the DMV. Being able to identify the criminals is one way to solve this problem. But with one side crying full amnesty and the other crying mass deportation, things will only get worse.
You do not need to know English to be successful in this country and one counts as two by knowing two languages such as English and Spanish since they involve two very distinct communities.
Many “illegals” have studied the English language, and many have learned it. Other illegal and legal individuals may have it harder, since learning English at an older age is extremely difficult.
Those here “legally” may not even know English, but they receive your “respect” for having papers. Let’s be clear that “illegals” aren’t afraid to tell you they’re “illegal,” since they have nothing to hide. They may never have obtained a valid driver’s license in Virginia, but may have in another state or country. Illegal immigrants used to be able to obtain licenses in Virginia, but can no longer renew their expired licenses. We give the police department too much credit, since identifying an “illegal” for an officer couldn’t possibly be difficult. They continue to harass “illegals,” and invade homes without proper warrants, knowing “illegals” may not know what rights they have.
I could never be against illegal immigration, unless other than working, it poses an actual threat to the community as a whole, not just the minority voting population. My parents were both at one point illegal, and even though I was nothing more than an “anchor baby,” I proved to be more than just that.

Chris, the point being the Bush Administration gave the tax cuts. Cheney saved more in taxes than my wife and I earn in a year. You want $50k and under? I have no problem with that. I wish the rebate checks were larger and went only to those earning under $50 or $75. I don’t have a care in the world that I’m not getting one and I truely wish yours would be larger. Remember, tax cuts for the rich = Bush Administration. If you can feed a family on $50k then more power to you. Bet you won’t be paying cash for a new Cobra like your buddy cobra.
Remember Luke i am your father. Although your hatred has twisted your logic as well. Chris Cummings
Ray the tax cuts should have gone to just those making under $50kwith family, sorry $75k is more than well off in most people i knows opinion. In fact i know very few people making that much. In fact i am satisfied making $40-50k a year, i am not greedy like some people. Tax cuts shouldn’t be allowed for those making $75k and over. Chris Cummings
Never said anything against the rule of law There chief, how is it you are changing the subject again? With your worker ethics i suggest actually that China and Burma are a better fit for you Ray. You can cut your wages to the bone by hiring there. America is far from through with the likes of you. Chris Cummings
One sentence hiring day laborers breaks “Immigration Law” Ray. There is your answer. Enough said. Chris Cummings
Chris, a woman’s right to choose is the Rule of Law. Just because you don’t agree with it does not change the law. My right to sponsor immigrants through the documentation process is also the Rule of Law. Again, just because it somehow violates your personal views does not change the law. If you don’t like living in America with its various opinions and moral standards, I might suggest China or Burma as a more fitting choice for a hardliner such as yourself. Goodbye, and good riddance.
and finally, I’ll ask cobra as Chris refuses to answer this question. If hiring day laborers at 7-11 is so profitable, name 5 reasons why your boss doesn’t hire some day laborers to fill your job every day. And, yada, yada My Company is Professional yada, yada is a given. Come on cobra, 5 reasons why you’re not replaced by a day laborer.
cobra, it seems to me the tax cuts for the rich were a Bush/Cheney idea. Personally, I DO think they should be for those earning under $75k - but then, I am a bleeding heart liberal! I pay a good share of taxes and don’t mind for a minute as that is part of what makes America great.
Great for your brother-in-law, but why is it you feel he can be successful following the law but I can’t? Oh, I know all the ways contractors beat the system as I compete against them all the time. But again I say you can run a profitable business and follow the rules. It just doesn’t fit the “profile” of an immigrant employer you like to rag on.
As for you, I meant to say “business” education, not education in general. Me? A High School graduate. With a Masters from UVA, you should have no problem comprehending the Cashflow Quadrant - although it might come as a shock that higher educated people often earn less as their field of study become more narrow. You might also read The Millionaire Next Door for more insight who has the money in your community.
Hey Cobra are you hiring? I know Ray would never hire me. Unless of course he could get me for cheap. LOL Chris Cummings
Sorry Ray it shouldn’t be a choice to kill a baby just because you forget protection or the pill, and furthermore it should only be allowed as a choice in cases of rape and incest, if not for those two reasons it should be paid for by the individuals responsible. Accountability for one’s actions would be nice instead of encouraging people to just go at it. I understand the laws on abortion although i do not have to agree with them. Ray i never knocked business when it pertains to hiring legal employees, just the employers who hire illegals like yourself and whatever inane comments you make about the “Rule of Law Resolution”, by the way its the law accept it.
