To those against illegal immigration
Published: May 10, 2008
Those against illegal immigration, starting today, boycott all Mexican products, including our food, beer, tequila and our labor. If you are an American in the construction industry, I suggest joining the Union, because then you aren’t at risk of a Mexican taking your job. Americans and many legal immigrants believe that by having papers, their work habits shouldn’t be up to par, which leaves “illegals” employed.
Those against illegal immigration seem to blame children of immigrants for America’s problem. I didn’t choose to be Mexican-American, I just got lucky.
Assimilation will never be achieved without some kind of amnesty, which may not even involve green cards, but valid IDs given by the DMV. Being able to identify the criminals is one way to solve this problem. But with one side crying full amnesty and the other crying mass deportation, things will only get worse.
You do not need to know English to be successful in this country and one counts as two by knowing two languages such as English and Spanish since they involve two very distinct communities.
Many “illegals” have studied the English language, and many have learned it. Other illegal and legal individuals may have it harder, since learning English at an older age is extremely difficult.
Those here “legally” may not even know English, but they receive your “respect” for having papers. Let’s be clear that “illegals” aren’t afraid to tell you they’re “illegal,” since they have nothing to hide. They may never have obtained a valid driver’s license in Virginia, but may have in another state or country. Illegal immigrants used to be able to obtain licenses in Virginia, but can no longer renew their expired licenses. We give the police department too much credit, since identifying an “illegal” for an officer couldn’t possibly be difficult. They continue to harass “illegals,” and invade homes without proper warrants, knowing “illegals” may not know what rights they have.
I could never be against illegal immigration, unless other than working, it poses an actual threat to the community as a whole, not just the minority voting population. My parents were both at one point illegal, and even though I was nothing more than an “anchor baby,” I proved to be more than just that.

this is slightly off topic, but i’d like to respond to the “tax the rich” statement. Hillary’s state, NY, has some of the highest taxes in the country and these taxes hit everyone. It’s a very democrat minded state. They tax the industry out of business and hand out welfare like candy while taxing everyone else to death to pay for it.
Ray,
My information on the Contractor Scams comes directly from my millionaire brother in law who is the owner of Adams Homes in FL. He hires very few foreign workers as FL has many Americans who will work in that industry. As evidenced by your liberal rants on this web page about the war and all that other stuff, I don’t believe for one minute that you are for capitalism. I’m sure you buy into the same class warfare BS that all liberals do. Tax cuts for the rich yada yada yada. What a terrible idea to have tax cuts to people who actually pay taxes. Improve my Education? Is a Master’s degree from UVA not good enough for you? Should I go back and get a Doctorate so that I can understand the likes of the uneducated? I think not.
And Chris, a lot of money to be made in mowing grass. Don’t knock it. Invest $50k to $75k in a truck, trailer and mowers and have at it. Done right, you could earn $100k to $150k per year - legally.
The way I see it Chris is that you support the Rule of Law as it pertains to a woman’s choice, as long as she doesn’t make the “wrong” choice. If she did, you would then jump on your soap box and claim that by following the law, she broke another law that affects your values. I’ll put my company’s fate in the government’s hands, not yours thank you. And the pool is fine, open and ready - just still a little chilly to dive in. I did have a nice dinner pool-side last night, enjoying the lush setting and tranquil sound of the waterfall.
cobra, I understand you don’t understand all the ins and outs of business so I’ll let you believe what you want to. The only opinions I care about are the IRS, INS and the VEC. I’ll suggest reading the same book I mentioned to Chris. Rich Dad/Poor Dad Cashflow Quadrant. You’ll discover how money is made. I’m not mad at Bill Gates, Warren Buffet or even Dan Snyder for having lots of money. They’re sharp cookies and earned it. We are all not blessed with the same level of skills. Some of us excel, others plod along. Don’t attack others because you don’t understand it. Try to improve your education and understand business.
Sorry Ray your definition of me and my personal values has been incorrect, i have no belief in Prohibition because it didn’t work, as for prostitition being legal, it is only legal in 1 or 2 places, other than that it is a crime, do you pimp out your formerly undocumented<illegal> workers to the local brothels? What part of hiring illegals does the government say is legal, Ray you are too funny. Sorry Ray i don’t collect shopping carts, or hire lawnmowers like yourself. Ray every legal immigrant pays taxes, except of course businesses that pay the foreman to pay the illegals or CEO’s that cheat and put their money in tax shelters or offshore accounts. Everybody knows that a lot of business CEO’s are crooked. Sorry Ray that you think the law is just another prizefight you can manipulate to make a buck off of skirting the law. Gambling is alright, as long as one doesn’t turn it into an addiction. Most places already offer civil unions, so whats your point on gay unions? What does my belief in abortion have to do with Ray breaking “Immigration Law” i will never know. I guess he feels panicked by his indefensible position so he sites his “Liberal handbook”. The “Rule of Law” is what it is supposed to be just because it is not fully enforced by everyone does not make it any less the law. Hey Ray if you are so concerned about the American worker an a better living wage, why don’t you hire legal immigrants, instead of hiring illegals? That is if you really care. I have no hatred towards my fellow legal immigrants, only towards you employers of illegals and the illegals themselves. I am very happy in my life and will just let you implode with yours, morally, physically and mentally. Of course since you think you are right, you don’t believe it has happened yet. Chris Cummings
Here is what Ray Williams will not tell you about the Contracting Business. They will hire a Foreman who is legal and pay him an inflated hourly wage. He will in turn go out and hire illegal workers and pay them out of his check that he gets each week. That’s how they skirt the law. Contractors are slick these days. Now Ray says he pays his Mexican worker $25.00 hour which is hard to believe in todays contracting world where cheap labor is available at every 7-11 in PW County. Not sure how he competes paying those wages even in the high end market.
Hey Ray where in US immigration law does it say you can aid or abet illegal aliens in finding or giving transportation, housing, and finding a job most notably as their employer? Your argument gets more ludicrous by the moment. By the way hows the pool i see you haven’t made it yet. Chris Cummings
Chris, by your self-proclaimed high moral values, I will assume you don’t gamble or partake of prostitution, but guess what dude, they are both legal in parts of this great country. So are gay unions and there are even companies like Disney that offer health benefits to partners of employees in committed relationships. (Ban the mouse ears from your children). As a non-drinker, you are most likely angry Prohibition was abolished. And we can guess your position on a woman’s right to choose. But despite your personal views, these are all legal areas and whether supported by a “majority” or not, they certainly are not high on the list of enough people to work to overturn them. So suck it up and understand the Rule of Law is the law, not what you would like it to be. You state you do not visit fast food joints, but to you lobby to raise the minimum wage to a survivable level that Americans can afford to work there? I thought not, you just complain and build more hatred within yourself. Please get some professional help.
And Chris, much like Darth Vader, your own hatred will consume you.
Now go back to playing chess at the beginners level and leave me alone.
Chris, you’re just too funny. I don’t know what part about FOLLOWING the law of the land you don’t understand, but if the government says it’s okay, then dude, it’s okay. Call your supervisor and ask him if small businesses fuel the economy or if shopping cart collectors such as yourself are the backbone of PWC. The county runs on taxes and businesses pay more taxes than individuals. LEGAL employees also pay taxes. As all my people are DOCUMENTED and pay taxes, they are therefore legal in the eyes of the government. I am truly sorry if this does not meet your personal definition of what is legal, but then you’re not a lawyer are you. Try as you might to bend ths discussion to match your own twisted logic, you lose this round. In fact, I believe you’ve lost every round.
