To those against illegal immigration
Published: May 10, 2008
Those against illegal immigration, starting today, boycott all Mexican products, including our food, beer, tequila and our labor. If you are an American in the construction industry, I suggest joining the Union, because then you aren’t at risk of a Mexican taking your job. Americans and many legal immigrants believe that by having papers, their work habits shouldn’t be up to par, which leaves “illegals” employed.
Those against illegal immigration seem to blame children of immigrants for America’s problem. I didn’t choose to be Mexican-American, I just got lucky.
Assimilation will never be achieved without some kind of amnesty, which may not even involve green cards, but valid IDs given by the DMV. Being able to identify the criminals is one way to solve this problem. But with one side crying full amnesty and the other crying mass deportation, things will only get worse.
You do not need to know English to be successful in this country and one counts as two by knowing two languages such as English and Spanish since they involve two very distinct communities.
Many “illegals” have studied the English language, and many have learned it. Other illegal and legal individuals may have it harder, since learning English at an older age is extremely difficult.
Those here “legally” may not even know English, but they receive your “respect” for having papers. Let’s be clear that “illegals” aren’t afraid to tell you they’re “illegal,” since they have nothing to hide. They may never have obtained a valid driver’s license in Virginia, but may have in another state or country. Illegal immigrants used to be able to obtain licenses in Virginia, but can no longer renew their expired licenses. We give the police department too much credit, since identifying an “illegal” for an officer couldn’t possibly be difficult. They continue to harass “illegals,” and invade homes without proper warrants, knowing “illegals” may not know what rights they have.
I could never be against illegal immigration, unless other than working, it poses an actual threat to the community as a whole, not just the minority voting population. My parents were both at one point illegal, and even though I was nothing more than an “anchor baby,” I proved to be more than just that.

Equality: Just thought I’d add some racism to the anti crowd’s statements on anchor babies. After all, these lawless kooks want to change the Constitution and our laws to fit their bigotry and hatemongering. Where are the Repub onservatives who are so “family value” oriented (allegedly)? If we need to change our laws, then let’s be thorough - it was “food for thought”.
Let’s stop all this citizenship BS on this site. A majority of illegal immigrants care nothing about citizenship. They come here to work and take what they can out of the system. That is evidenced by the last amnesty of 1986. A small minority of those people became citizens. The hold their allegance to their home country and the sooner all you apologist understand that we will be able to move on. There is no middle ground for us that oppose illegal immigration regardless of the bleeding heart stories we hear. When the Presidents of Mexico promote illegal immigration into the US, illegals think it gives them some credibility on the issue. They meddle in our affairs but ignore their own humans rights records on how they treat illegals in Mexico. I don’t care what Mr. Pineda’s status but as you can see, Mexico is first and the US is second in his mind. That’s how it goes with Mexican Nationals. GO BACK AND FIX YOUR OWN HELL HOLE SOUTH OF THE BORDER.
I don’t really fall on any “side” in the way that it’s described on this board, but I do feel the unavoidable need to call people on their BS.
PHDEE, how can you write that “so many [PWC citizens] could not present a position that had logic, no matter what the viewpoint was” on another post, and then argue such a completely nonsensical point on this post. How are babies born out of wedlock by US citizens and babies born by “illegal” immigrants the same thing?
To barnum and other anti’s who knock what is callebd “anchor babies” by them. The granting of citizenship was put into law by citizens and lawmakers more knowledgable than these kooks. After all, it is the LAW. What a lawless bunch of kooks!!! How about this for thought: why don’t we deny citizenship to babies born out of wedlock to US citizens?
Ruben, In your first paragraph you use the nationality “Mexican” followed by “our”, which clearly let’s the reader know that you are in fact a Mexican, even though you may be a US citizen. I enjoy these articles solely on the fact that they are completely race based, with a theme of victim mentality.
The author is only making this argument because the majority of illegal aliens are from Mexico. If the vast majority of illegals were from Africa, would the author’s reasoning be the same? I highly doubt it. This article reflects the pro-Mexican movement in our country, without respect of our sovereignty or our laws.
What the author fails to understand is that US citizenship is not something that is just given away. Why should we look away from all the Mexican illegals in our country when the rest of the world’s population would love the opportunity to be here.
I ask the aiuthor a simple question, would you allow your neighborhood, city, or state to become majority Africans over a ten year period due to Africans walking across our borders and breeding? I believe your answer would be know.
barnun, I know you have read enough of my posting to understand I do not support full amnesty, but do believe we need to document those here for security reasons and, while at it, collect taxes on the black market and gray market labor to offset costs to our social services. When you and the other Resolutionists are ready to board all 12 million illegals on the plane home (after the U.S. border is secured that is) then let me know and I’ll side with your position. Until then, SOMETHING needs to be done so we have some control of our community and shouting Rule of Law ain’t it.
The “paper” issue is so phony - just a red herring to conceal bias and prejudice. I know lots of elderly folks who never had birth certificates no one seemed to really worry about their origin. And some folks never had SS numbers until it became necessary to get benefits.
Rueben, I thought about it and you are right. All Americans should boycot Mexico until Mexico helps to secure our southern border. We should boycott all vactions to that country and all goods imported from that country. rueben, illegals arent just mexicans. you stereotype them unfairly. How about if the PWC schools quit printing anything in spanish but offer it in Korean. That would still be fair, right ? All atm machines could offer english and japanese language. All call in phone systems could offer english and french languages. This could all be part of the rueben boycott.
Ray, Rueben there is a problem that is overlooked. Laws have been broken. Federal laws as well as many state and local laws. To be fair to everyone else, should the government forgive the crimes of people currently in jail for breaking laws ? I am not wanted, so will the government issue me a pass sort of like a get out of jail free card for the next 3 crimes I commit ? If the parents of the anchor babies are given amnesty and ID, should they be put on a payment schedule to repay their debt ? My first 2 children were born with no insurance and I paid every penny and yes, I was working as a laboror making poverty level wages. so, yada yada yada how do you propose fairness and one law that applies to all ?
Mr. Pineda:
Why should the American government reward violators of our immigration laws by issuing them a valid I.D. as a way of saying thank you for disrespecting our laws. Do you really think U.S. citizens are going to go along with your logic? Only the illegal immigrant apologists will.
