Allison Bartels won her second consecutive Region II title and in doing so, the Brentsville senior helped her school’s girls’ cross country team capture its second straight regional championship.
Bartels, last week’s Evergreen District winner, finished in 18:58, helping the Tigers total 64 points.
Junior Morgan Price, who finished second in the district race, contributed to Brentsville’s cause by finishing fourth (19:34). Jill Marianos (16th, 20:13), Caitlin Hoffman (18th, 20:34) and Isabel Longenecker (28th, 20:58) gave the Tigers points as well.
Brentsville’s boys’ team placed third. Corey Scott was the Tigers’ top finisher. His finish was followed by Matt Earman. The rest of the Tigers’ finishers were Gabe Lassiter, Zach Morrow, Chris Cunningham, Andrew Hull and Steve Filler.
