OP field hockey team falls to Mountain View in Northwest Region Tournament
The Osbourn Park field hockey team accomplished one of its primary season goals by qualifying for the Northwest Region Tournament.
And while the Yellow Jackets lost to Commonwealth District champion and No. 1 seed Mountain View, 5-0, on Tuesday, the 2009 campaign was a resounding success as OP earned regular season wins over the Cardinal District’s top two teams—Woodbridge and Forrest Park—and defeated Hylton 1-0 on Monday to secure a regional berth.
Aidan Priest and Margot Holland teamed up for the game’s only goal against Hylton, while the Jackets received outstanding play from Tori Kelly, Mercedes Cox and Hilary White during the loss to Mountain View.
