wow open your eyes and look around you. Just who is OP beating. They cant beat anyone of any significance so until they beat Woodbridge (this week) then be quiet and go sit in the stands and route on your son…. otherwise come back with some real facts. And yes as for the cheerleaders they are girls but they are also a squad and are at the games to represent no have a giggle party they need to get it together and act like a real squad maintain their formation and cheer not run around laughing and giggling all the time.

Wow.  How cynical does a poster get?  Surely you appreciate the win tonight.  I like that this system notifies me when someone responds to these posts or I would never check it.  I’m just attempting to understand how can these coaches and everyone be so bad and misguided when the results on the field show for themselves.  And why so hard on the cheerleaders?  They’re 14-18 year old girls for goodness sake!!  I thought giggling came with the 14-18 year old girl handbook.  The team is winning with what it has.  Heaven forbid they win even more this year, that might start a petition against there even being a football program and cheerleading squad if the cynics get involved.  They may even being praying for a loosing season next year just to be vindicated regarding this season.  Amazing…

4thluvofootbal,

Ha, ha that is me laughing. Winning attitude your right in that they may have improved this year, lol, and im sure that will be short lived. And as for the playoffs well lets see we dropped districts to make and play in the playoffs just so we could say we won a district title if that even happens tonight. Do you really call that improvement. OP is a joke and the coaching staff is a joke and the new A.D. which we all thought would make a difference is a joke. Listen to opfollower not just me and yes I do attend home games and some away. I feel bad for my kids and other kids who cant make OP sports teams, because the coaches claim “they arent fast enough, they arent big enough, they arent tall enough.“ Yet their friends kids how are slower, smaller and shorter are all in there playing. Its a joke and it will continue to be a joke until Beaty and the family staff is wiped out and we get a real head coach who has no ties. As for the cheerleader what can I say but “Wow what a joke” They spend more time socializing and giggling on the sidelines than they do cheering. I actually find them a diruption more than a pleasure to watch. I think they need to go take a look at some of the Middle Schools cheer teams who seem to be more organized and care more about cheering.

The football program yes has made some progress but after following them for the past 8 years with my own kids even playing for these very same coaches you are talking about, i have witnessed them loose some many games just because they(the coaches) don’t even realize the talent they have standing on the sidelines, i’ve seen them punish kids by not playing them rather than working with the kids to make them better, they leave seniors standing on the sidelines, continually calling bad plays and playing games not to loose rather the go all out to win. They are having a good year, but they won’t last but one game in the playoffs if they think Terrell can do it all, they should be playing both qb’s to make Terrell more effective but they don’t have clue.
As for spirit, other schools continue to come into OP’s house and out cheer them, our cheerleaders don’t know when they should be getting the crowd noisy , they are a joke.
I’ll continue to go to games but i think they only have 2 games left with a early exit in playoffs and no JV prospects that have been moved up to play now and next year. It’s a shame.

OP the last 4 years has come along way.  The seniors had a winning freshman year, their JV team actually won games the first in many years, their junior year wasn’t terrific but improving and now the seniors have the number 2 defensive in the state. Not real sure what you mean about spirit I know numerous parents and relatives that have attended every single game home or away since our seniors started at OP.  Is football ranked high at OP no not really as it isn’t anywhere in the county.  Have you attended any of the games this year, attendance has been somewhat low at all of them, home and away.  I will agree with some things don’t change, need to be more creative with our offense if we expect to go far in the playoffs this year.  As even stated on one of the insidenova.com video blogs.

I was checking this site out and couldn’t help but notice the ingratitude towards the coach and what’s been done to OP’s Football program.  Ask anyone who knows anything about PWC football and they will tell you that OP COMPLETELY forgot how to play football before the coach came to the school.  OP was a door mat, an automatic win, for programs like Gar-Field, Hylton, and ESPECIALLY Woodbridge.  Check the record, OP was a joke before the coach got there and there was nearly zero reason for the kids to show spirit for a team that hadn’t played respectable football since the mid 80’s!!  And now they were one game away from being district title holders.  That coach has brought an attitude OP football lost many years ago, A WINNING attitude.  An attitude that will help those football players on and off the field.  I don’t have kids that go to OP but the OP football I’ve always known usually ended in a joke. Tell me what OP football and students had to cheer for before the coach got there ?  If you’re honest, you know it was nothing.  Even the uniforms were a joke.  It’s just when I read this bashing, it makes me wonder do people remember what this program once was and how far its come.  How about saying, “hey this program is trying to build a winning tradition it hasn’t seen in decades and hoo rah that kids are even out there seeing there friends and school mates WIN!“  8-1 is not bad last I checked in a conference that includes Garfield, Hylton, and Woodbridge.  Especially considering the history of OP.

I agree.  I told my husband after having surveyed the fans on both sides that Woodbridge had more spirit with less people.  Half the time the cheerleaders don’t know whether to cheer offense or defense, if they do a cheer at all.  And, yes, fans are tired of the program being centered around the coach’s friends and family and one single player.  The basketball program is the same way.  How many seniors play sports through their junior year and then don’t even try out their senior year due to the politics.  I thought with a new athletic director things might change, but it’s still the same.  Students’ lives are affected due to some immature adults.

OP has no school spirit except for your few highty tighty. The rest of the student body has more sense. The schools coaches are practically all related and therefore only accept family members, friends and those who can line their pockets on their teams while real players are passed over year after year. The whole program is a 3 ring circus all centered around 1 player which was promised anything he wanted if he would play for OP. As for the faculty they could care less about promoting school spirit since they dont even care.

That’s OP’s idea of a BLACK OUT???  LAME!
No school beats Woodbridge for Spirit!
