Osbourn High School senior Dana Kalnins has signed with Virginia Tech’s swimming program. Published: November 17, 2008

Kalnins has been a member of the Osbourn varsity swim team for three years.
As a freshman, she was fifth in the 100 fly and 8th in the 500 free. She was also sixth in the 200IM and 12th in the 100 free.
As a sophomore, she was third in the 100 fly and seventh in the 500 free. She was second in the 100 fly and third in the 500 free in regionals.
As a junior, she was eighth in the 100 fly and 12th in the 500 free. At regionals, she was fourth in the 100 fly and fifth in the 500 free.
CAA honors Sapong
C.J. Sapong (Forest Park) was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association men’s soccer team.
A sophomore forward at James Madison University, Sapong finished second on the team with five goals. He also tied for second in points.
This is the second straight year that Sapong was named to the all-conference first team.
Mason’sPearson is CAA Rookie of Week
In George Mason’s 80-79 overtime victory at Vermont to open the 2008-09 season Saturday, freshman Ryan Pearson scored 13 points and recorded six rebounds.
That performance earned the 6-foot-6 forward Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week honors. A native of Far Rockaway, N.Y., Pearson was 5 of 7 from the floor and perfect in his three free throw attempts.
