Meyers, Burgess, Marrero contribute to P-Nats victory

Starting pitcher Brad Meyers tossed seven scoreless innings to help the Potomac Nationals defeat the Winston-Salem Dash 6-2 on Monday.
Meyers (5-2) gave up five hits and had no walks. He struck out six.
Chris Marrero’s fourth inning two-run home run and a solo shot from Michael Burgess in the seventh provided most of Potomac’s offense.
Marrero’s blast was his 10th this year. Burgess’s shot was his 13th.
Marrero went 3 for 5 with a double and Burgess went 2 for 4 with a double.
Potomac’s Danny Espinosa was 2 for 5 with a double as was Francisco Plasencia. Espinosa also stole his 13th base of the year.
Brian Peacock had two hits, one of which was a double. He also scored a run and stole a base.
Relief pitcher Dan Leatherman tossed a scoreless ninth inning and had a strikeout.
