The environmental section of the health district protects residents and visitors to Prince William County in a variety of areas, including testing water for bacteria and managing septic and well applications to make sure systems are properly located and constructed.

Environmental health officials also issue permits to restaurants to prevent food-borne disease and the sale of unwholesome products.

Officials take reports of rats and other rodents, responding to animal bites and giving rabies prevention.

For more information about services provided for environmental health, call 703-792-6310.
