Good morning Prince William, here's a huge cheers to the Prince William Area Quality Child Care Partnership! This newly filed non-profit organization is committed to improving the quality of early childhood education.

They are looking for a volunteer treasurer who can offer a couple hours a week tracking receipts and expenditures in Microsoft Excel as well as attend monthly board meetings on the third Wednesday of each month. Here's your opportunity to see this wonderful new organization get off the ground with sound financial management practices.

I have the perfect opportunity for basketball fans. The super folks at the Boys and Girls Club in Manassas are gearing up for the summer basketball program in early June. Literacy Volunteers of America have adults waiting to be matched with a tutor. This is a wonderful program with fabulous outcomes. The next volunteer training is May 9 with the followup May 16. Be part of the solution and give someone added skill to improve their job and well-being. Call 703-670-5702 to learn more and don't forget the car wash Saturday. It's the perfect vol-unteer job to enjoy the sunshine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Office of Emergency Management invites you to better prepare yourself, your family and community to handle emergencies by attending a one-day community emergency response train-ing June 27 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This promises to be a fun and rewarding training by giving you the skills to protect your home and family, identify and reduce common fire safety hazards, recognize urgent medical situations and understand the psychological impact of disaster events.

Training is free but advanced registration is required. Contact Kathy Simmons at 703-792-5627 or ksimmons@pwcgov.org. You will also receive a voucher for a free American Red Cross CPR class.

Please don't forget the wonderful folks at Project Mend-A-House and their Builders' Yard Sale on June 6. Volunteers are needed on June 5 to help set up from 8:30 a.m. to noon and June 6.

Donations of gently-used building materials, supplies and medical equipment are also appreci-ated. Call Buck at 703-501-5640 to donate and /or volunteer.
