Ladies: From 0 to drama in nine months
Good day World! I hope the week has been moving by smoothly for everyone, as every day closer to Friday is a better day than the one before. This week, I want to get started by touching on an issue that I may need some help in understanding. This issue happens every day and I cannot come up with a logical answer as to why it happens so frequently these days.
Some of you in this situation may get upset with me, but I have to ask … Ladies, why is it that so many of you these days are choosing to have your first child by a guy who already has two to four other children by multiple women? It's like some of you pass over some decent men and then say "yeah, that one right there, with the backed-up child support payments."
When I was just learning my way in this adult world, I used to think that these guys must have had the greatest lines in the world in order to make a woman feel comfortable enough to start a family with them. Yet now I'm beginning to see that it might not be so much about the guys as it is about the women.
And I'm not just talking about younger women either; in some cases, I'm talking about successful, independent, hard-working women whom have not settled for anything less than the best in their lives. You know that girl who had a good head on her shoulders and made good choices for most of her life, only to find out that she picked the worst guy in your old high school to have a child with? Not to mention, that she quickly becomes baby mama No. 3, 4, or 5.
Sometimes, choosing a bad mate is unavoidable, but in cases such as the one being discussed, the writing is clearly on the wall. If the guy has children by multiple women, then chances are you do not want to get involved with him.
Sorry to my dudes out there, just trying to tell it like it is…
The Odoms
Alright, can you hear that? It's the countdown to divorce court for newlyweds Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian. The celebrity couple tied the knot last weekend in Los Angeles. I'm not wishing any bad on anyone or wanting to come off as cynical, I'm just playing the odds on this one.
An NBA star and a glorified socialite. Do the math.
For what it's worth, it looks as if the wedding was spectacular and I wish the newlyweds the best of luck, chuckle chuckle. Hope they can get the reality show filmed within the year.
The Good Reverend makes an odd appearance
Let me start this story by saying that amid all of the controversy surrounding Rev. Al Sharpton over the years, I've always had a respect for the man. While his motivation for getting involved in large racially-charged incidents will always be questioned, I've always felt that the Rev. gets across the point that is needed to be made in such situations. I'm aware that many individuals do not share these same feelings towards him, but it's just been the lens that I've chosen to look at him through.
With that being said, I cannot support this man making an appearance on the World Wrestling Entertainment's "Monday Night Raw" show this week. His appearance on the show was made to look as if he was promoting his new education reform tour, but to me it looked like another case of self-promotion by the Reverend. I guess those in attendance felt the same way as the audience immediately began to boo when Sharpton began speaking.
For someone who wants to be taken seriously in serious matters, I don't see why he would align himself with professional wrestling. Especially at a time when there is a 16-year-old boy whom was just beaten to death in Chicago last week.
Never mind that though, it seems the pious Rev. does not meddle in black-on-black crime? I'll let you piece together that one for yourself …'til next week, Peace!!!
