Good morning, Prince William. Those wonderful folks at Project Mend-A-House has all the answers to your fall honey-do project list! Please join them at their annual yard sale this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the County Landfill. You'll get great buys on windows, doors, cabinets, flooring, trim, lighting fixtures, kitchen sinks, hot water heaters and the list goes on and on. Not only can you get this wonderful deal but the proceeds from this event funds various fix-up projects all through the year so seniors are safe in their own homes. You don't want to miss this event. For more information or if you have things to donate, please give them a call at 703-792-7663.

Also, this weekend is the 6th Annual Stonewall Jackson 5K Run/Walk in the City of Manassas. Volunteers are needed Thursday evening to help distribute race packets to the runners from 3 to 7 p.m. And then on Saturday, volunteers are needed to help with logistics, course monitors, at the water stop, food distribution and of course break-down and clean-up from 6:45 to 10 a.m. This is a super community event and promises to be great fun. Please call Deleney at 703-257-8315 for more information and to sign up for a specific volunteer position.

The super volunteers at Habitat for Humanity have fix-up projects almost every Saturday and would welcome volunteers who can provide lunch to volunteers on site. It doesn't have to be fancy or elaborate just a little something to keep us working. Sandwiches, chips and beverages or whatever strikes your fancy. Please call Joanne at 703-369-6708 to sign up for a particular Saturday.

The Manassas Department of Neighborhood Services is gearing up for their Annual Neighborhood Conference on Nov. 14 at the Boys & Girls Club in Manassas. Volunteers are needed throughout the day. Please call Kisha at 703-257-8240 to learn more about all the ways you can help.

And last but not least, the super folks at Literacy Volunteers of Prince William have a number of adults needing a tutor. It only takes two hours a week to make an enormous impact on a life by helping them improve reading, writing and communication skills. They will train you and give you all the support you need so please give them a call at 703-670-5702 or visit www.lvapw.org for more information.
