» Today, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Brentsville District High School, 12109 Aden Road in Nokesville, will host the Polar Bear Palooza. There will be children's activities including pictures with Santa, face painting and holiday crafts. At 6, Brentsville and Battlefield high schools' faculties will battle in a flag football game. Tickets are $5 a person or $3 a person with two canned goods or personal care items to donate. Family tickets are $15. Door prizes will also be auctioned off; all processed will benefit the Un-Trim-a-Tree project.
» Saturday, 4 p.m., Nokesville Community Tree Lighting at the corner of Fitzwater Drive and Nokesville Road. After the tree lighting, there will be chili, sandwiches, desserts and drinks in the Nokesville Church of the Brethren fellowship hall. Santa will visit children starting at 5:30. The event also includes carriage rides from 5:30 to 7:30 and a live nativity scene on the church lawn starting at 6:30. Children are asked to bring a can of food when they visit Santa.
» Saturday, 5 p.m., The Prince William County Historic Preservation Division will host holiday concerts,at 5 and 6 p.m. at the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre, 12229 Bristow Road, Bristow.
