Civil Air Patrol cadet Capt. Joshua Elphee received the Amelia Earhart Award from CAP Maj. James Covel, the commander of the Prince William Composite Squadron, on Nov. 18.
The Amelia Earhart Award is a cadet achievement award of the Civil Air Patrol and is presented in honor of Amelia Earhart, pioneering aviatrix and aviation record-setter. This award is presented on behalf of CAP National Headquarters to denote the successful completion of the specific requirements in Phase II training within the cadet training program. Upon completion of this ward, Elphee was promoted to Cadet captain.
