The Christmas Basket got a boost with an anonymous $250 donation from Woodbridge. Another anonymous donor from Manassas sent $100.

The News & Messenger Business Office donated $60 and added a note: "The business office of the News & Messenger, in Manassas, in lieu of exchanging presents is donating to the Christmas Basket."

Phillip A. and Shirley M. Mitchell of Triangle sent in $50 with a note: "Hope this will help. In remembrance of Muriel Severson, Viola Mitchell, Emma Chambers and Kate Hendersen. Merry Christmas -- Phil & Shirley Mitchell."

Jackie and Jay Savage of Manassas sent $50 and a quick message: "Give a little, it means a lot!!"

Jeanne M. Baughman of Manassas donated $100; Manassas Martial Arts and Fitness sent $50 and Ann and Walt Cislo of Woodbridge gave $50.

Paul E. and Shannon J. Coyle of Jeffersonton sent in $50 and a note: "This is dedicated to our heroic members of the Armed Forces and their families."

HOW TO GIVE ...

Donations can be brought to the News & Messenger offices on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge and Church Street in Manassas. You may also mail checks to the News & Messenger, Attn: Christmas Basket, P.O. Box 431, Manassas, VA 20110.

All donations to the Christmas Basket go directly to the Prince William County Corps of the Salvation Army.
