Jim and Trudy Tobin of Woodbridge made a $200 donation and sent a note: “Please accept this donation to the Christmas Basket in memory of two dear ladies who passed away on Saturday, December 20th, Mrs. Etta Thompson, a former Lake Ridge resident, would have been 94 years young on January 23rd. Mrs. Lillie Watts of Georgetown, DE celebrated her 102nd birthday on April 25th. Saturday was a sad day to lose two dear people six hours apart. I hope this donation will help make someone’s life a little better. May 2009 be a better year for all.”

Donations can be brought to the News & Messenger offices on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge and Church Street in Manassas. You may also mail checks to the News & Messenger, Attn: Christmas Basket, P.O. Box 431, Manassas, VA 20110.
All donations to the Christmas Basket go directly to the Prince William County Corps of the Salvation Army.
