“Illegal immigrants contribute an estimated $400 million to Virginia’s economy annually in taxes, according to a study released Thursday by a group hoping to counter some anti-illegal immigrant sentiment in the legislature.”
This is the first paragraph of a recent article printed in the Potomac News.
Even if this is true, that illegals contribute to the tax base, it dosen’t excuse their illegal behavior. You’re making the case that they should be excused because they contribute dollars to the economy.
If I rob a bank, take that money and start a business, hire 50 employees, pay taxes, etc, etc...will the law forgive me for robbing the bank? I contributed to the local economy. I created 50 new jobs! So I assume I’ll be forgiven for my illegal behavior because I “contributed” to the economy.
Your argument holds no water. Illegal is illegal. Living in a black market society, falsifing W-2’s for employment, fabricating Social Security numbers or stealing identities — also illegal. Driving without a license nor insurance — also illegal.
Your willing to forgive multiple crimes because they pay taxes?
This is an excuse used by the press and the liberal left to excuse illegal behavior. Typical.
Enforce the exsisting laws. Secure the borders so tens of millions of illegals cannot simply walk across. Congress and the president need to do their job and protect the legal citizens of the United States.
