Saudi Arabia is no genuine ally of U.S.

»  Comments | Post a Comment

I read with interest in the Feb. 2008 issue of Scientific American under education on page 18 the article “Arabian Brainpower.” Despite the important economic and political relationship the U.S. has with the Saudi Kingdom it is not a genuine ally of ours. Groups coming from it have funded and organized terrorism against the West.

The Saudi people don’t like Israel; don’t like American bases on Saudi Arabian soil and generally don’t like the American people and U.S. government.

We only deal with them because of their vast reserves of oil underneath the sand. So the U.S. has a love-hate relationship with Saudi Arabia.

Now, certainly nobody or no thing should begrudge the establishment King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), yet it will probably train a new breed of sophisticated nuclear engineer terrorists.

Just because the “graduate level” will be independent of Saudi Arabia ‘s government doesn’t mean (KAUST) won’t be infiltrated by potential terrorists. If KAUST takes off, it should receive the scrutiny of the CIA and other intelligence agencies
