July auditions slated
for 'On Golden Pond'
The Prince William Little Theatre will hold auditions for "On Golden Pond" on July 20 and 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, 8712 Plantation Lane, Manassas.
Callbacks will be conducted on July 23.
Cast members needed include a male 60's to 80's; two males mid 30s to 40s; a boy 12-13; a female early to mid 50s to 60s and a female mid to late 30s to 40s.
Show times will be Sept. 26 and 27 and Oct. 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 5 and 12 at 2 p.m. at Jennie Dean Elementary School. For more information visit www.pwlt.org.
Cramer Center hosts 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'
Vstart Crow Productions will present William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" beginning Friday and running through July 27.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Adults are $20 and students/seniors/ city/county employees are $15.
A special offer provides a group of 10 or more with tickets at $10 each.

Art show features watercolor exhibit
The Marque at Heritage Hunt, an adult rental apartment complex in Gainesville, along with ArtBeat Gallery of Old Town Manassas is hosting an art show and reception for the public on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
The show will feature a watercolor exhibit, "Portals" by Katharine Nace which includes six new works. She interprets elements of weathered and timeworn beauty into her series of watercolor paintings.
Boxed note cards, giclee prints that are signed and numbed in limited editions, and small, framed prints featuring the artist's work will be available for sale.
'The Importance of Being Earnest' auditions slated
"The Importance of Being Earnest" will be the inaugural production for the Vpstart Crow Productions for its 15th season.
Director Stephanie Hanna, who is making her debut at Vpstart, is seeking five men (2 20-30, one any age, one 30-40, one 40-60) and three women ( 2 20-30 and one 40-60).
Auditions will be conducted at the Cramer Center, Manassas, on July 23-24 at 7 p.m. Callbacks will be scheduled if needed.
Auditionees should prepare a one to two minute comic monologue.

TAG Day Band Fundraiser to be held Sept. 13
Osbourn Park High School will hold its annual TAG Day Band Fundraiser tentatively set for Sept. 13 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The money raised will help to support the band program -- buying and repairing instruments, new music, uniforms and transportation. Students receive a portion of the funds to apply to music related purchases (concert apparel, music lessons, band camp and instruments.)
The band members will go to neighborhoods within the school's boundaries.
Financial Education program hosts workshops
The Financial Education program of the Virginia Cooperative Extension's Prince William Office will host three workshops on finances.
The classes are:
• July 16 'Smart Money Management" at 7 p.m. at Sudley North Building in Manassas. The workshop includes a self-assessment and other hands-on exercises on how to set goals, avoid overspending, improve net worth, good and bad debt, developing spending and saving plans. Cost is free but registration is required by calling 703-792-6287.
• July 23 "Smart Money Management at 7 p.m. at Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge. Details same as above.
• Thursdays "Free and Confidential Financial Counseling" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Ferlazzo and Sudley North. Counselors can help enhance or improve most financial situations -- from relatively healthy to more immediate and urgent concerns. Appointment required by calling 703-792-6287.
