A 19-year-old Woodbridge man died in a car accident in the 12700 block of Old Bridge Lane about 9:59 p.m. Sunday after a car in which he was a backseat passenger struck a tree, said Officer Erika Hernandez, Prince William police spokeswoman.
Mohammad Q. Abdur-Rehman, of 12893 Effingham Court, was flown to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead after arrival, Hernandez said.
The police investigation revealed that the driver, Devon Marshall Thomas, 19, of 13408 Hillendale Drive in Dale City, drifted across the double yellow line, over-corrected and hit the tree on the
northbound side of Old Bridge Lane, Hernandez said.
Thomas was charged with driving under the influence, unreasonable refusal, and no operator's license. Tho-mas is being held without bond and has a court date of Aug. 8, Hernandez said.

factors in the crash, Hernandez said
A 19-year-old Woodbridge man who was the second passenger in the 2005 Mitsubishi Galant was treated at the scene for minor injuries. He was sitting in the front passenger seat, Hernandez said.
