Why has the City of Manassas started ticketing cars in the lot across the tracks from the Thursday Farmers Market? When the market moved to the gazebo, I was told that parking there was allowed on
Thursday mornings to accommodate Farmers Market customers. So for all the years it’s been at the gazebo, that’s where I’ve parked with no problem until now.
Last Thursday, May 29, there was a parking ticket on my window after less than a half hour at the market. What gives? I’m not sure it’s worth it to blow a day in court to contest it, but I definitely won’t be returning to the Manassas Farmers Market when there are so many others in the area.
My routine had been to make a loop of other stores in the area when I left the market, so those stores will also lose my business. If the vendors pay a fee to be there, they should get more support than this.
Was this just a case of an over zealous parking enforcer or is the city trying to get rid of the Farmers Market?
