Liberty Street sign is a joke and eyesore

»  Comments | Post a Comment

There have been several articles about the 9500 Liberty Street property. It disturbs me every time something else evolves from it. This property has turned into a circus ring for the freedom of speech. It now has become a joke and an eyesore for the community.

I have lived on 9500 Liberty Street for eight years. My grandmother was in the house for 29 years. Her sister-in-law was the owner. This house was a historical land site. It was an old slave’s house. It was
almost 200 years old.

Now, the historical society restored the house on Prescott Avenue, but nobody took the time to pay attention to this property and the value of the history until the house was sold, tore down and became
a place of signs for immigrants to make their point.

The problem is they have made their point and now they are trashing it. Now the sign is taking away from the dignity and beauty of Old Town Manassas.
