American Legion Post 114 member passes

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The passing of one of our community’s giants has left a legacy on Prince Williams County. Father Paul W. Mitchell, as I knew him, has contributed a lifetime to helping those in need.

Those in need of charity, those in need of a great listener, those in need of advice ... Paul Mitchell has done it all.

He was always there when you needed him. Even during periods of his failing health, he would still give advise and assistance when confronted by a needy situation.

He challenged all situations head on and successfully. While visiting with him at his hospital bedside, he would actually try to come out of his bed to find or pull out a chair for me to sit.

He was always the gentleman and along with his family, he will be dearly missed by his Post members and the community as a whole.

We will forever dedicate our efforts to fulfilling his dreams in honoring our military veterans and make every effort to seek every benefit they so deserve for their many contributions and sacrifices they make to our country.

We appreciate the integrity, honor, dedication and loyalty given by comrade Paul Mitchell.

We should all follow his footsteps for the betterment of society. Hats off! Thumbs up! Salute! Rest in peace.
