Former Forest Park standout and University of Georgia pitcher Ryan Woolley pled not guilty to several charges on Monday stemming from an incident in which one of his summer-league teammates was seriously injured.

Woolley, playing in the prestigious Cape Cod League, faced charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol resulting in serious bodily injury, negligent operation of a vehicle and being a minor in possession of alcohol, according to the Cape Cod Times.

On Sunday, Woolley was involved in an incident that left University of North Carolina pitcher Barrett Dail -- Woolley's teammate on the Brewster Whitecaps -- in critical condition at a Boston hospital, the paper reported. Woolley's truck hit Dail, pinning him under the wheel. Dail suffered head and leg injuries, and injuries to his other leg and back were possible as well. Woolley told police he was moving his truck when Dail jumped on the hood; he said when he braked, Dail fell off and became lodged under the wheel, the paper reported.

Woolley pled not guilty and was released when his father paid the $500 cash bail.

Additional league and team sanctions, including dismissal, may also result, according to the Associated Press.

"Ryan is playing summer ball and made some poor decisions," Georgia coach David Perno said in a statement from Omaha, Neb., where the Bulldogs are playing in the College World Series. "It was an unfortunate incident, and he will have a tough road ahead of him now. I hope that [Dail] will be OK. I told the team after the game and reminded them about making good decisions and taking care of each other."

The statement was obtained by Baseball America.

During his senior year at Forest Park, Woolley went 6-3 with a 2.49 ERA, 82 strikeouts and 22 walks
